Myself, my family, my friends, other fans, I know were super psyched for this movie to come out. Unfortunately it did not live up to its potential.
Great director, great actors, great story line! However......the staff failed to meet the action expectations of today's fan craving.
Action scenes were amazing but entirely way too short. That goes for introducing the technology too. I mean seriously, filmmakers need to understand that fans want to see more of space aged weapons shooting things and blowing things up. Fight scenes that leave you with "Holy Shit", not "It's over already?"
One more thing that bugs me terribly about this movie is Kruger. Badass character right? WRONG! He was absolutely amazing through the introduction of him, his sleeper agent status and his whole point in the movie..........until he spoke. LMAO. He is a great actor, love him in District 9 - he happend to also fit that character role(an ordinary/average man put into extraordinary circumstances). Not the case in Elysium, would have been much better not talking at all = creepy.
