From an undisclosed region of space, hurtling towards Earth, meteorites containing a dormant, highly aggressive organism find their way to the island of Manhattan. Their origin on Earth is revealed in the prequel film A Quiet Place: Day One, as the meteorites crash, unleashing the hostile beings loose on the unsuspecting inhabitants of Manhattan Island. About the Aliens
Officially, the aliens in A Quiet Place have not yet been named. Unofficially, however, they've adopted the name Death Angels. It's possible this nickname could work its way into film canon, but for now it's merely a name fans have associated with the monsters of the franchise. For the sake of reference, we will also call them Death Angels until an official name is given to them.
Death Angels
The Death Angels are an extremely dangerous and highly aggressive organism. While they are all completely blind, their hearing is magnified to an extreme level. The slightest noise is enough to send Death Angels into a frenzy – causing them to track down the source of any noise with the sole purpose of neutralizing it. This can be inanimate objects like cars and living creatures.
Sensitive Hearing
The exact frequency at which they can not hear is yet to be determined, but they seem to be unable to hear shallow breathing, or the output of a beating heart. If people are still and quiet enough, they can be within inches of a Death Angel and remain undetected – despite their heart racing and their breathing labored.
Biology & Abilities
Death Angels are extremely fast, capable of traversing land at extremely high rates of speed. Their long limbs and claws allow for them to scale the sides of buildings, climbing and ripping through soft metals, wood and other materials. They also have an extremely rigid exoskeleton which protects their sensitive flesh underneath. Equipped with massive claws on their two front arms and rows of razor-sharp teeth, Death Angels make short work of Humans with ease. Their attack style is that of a Berserker – violently attacking anything that makes noise, with vicious ferocity.
Death Angel Weaknesses
While on land, Death Angels prove to be a formidable predator but in the water, they're vulnerable. Death Angels can not swim and they avoid water at all costs. If submerged, with no way to climb out, Death Angels will die.
The other weakness Death Angels are susceptible to ironically is also the source of their strength – their sensitive hearing. It was discovered in the first A Quiet Place, that certain pitch and frequencies can seriously disorient and cause pain for the Death Angels, causing their exoskeleton head compartments to flare erratically, exposing their vulnerable flesh. A single gunshot to the head while their flesh is exposed is enough to take one down.
Where do Death Angels come from?
The source of where Death Angels come from remains unknown. A new film in the A Quiet Place franchise is currently in development and may further expand on the Death Angels and how much the Government have learned about them.
Expanded Lore
Death Angels will also feature in a new comic series set within the A Quiet Place universe. IDW Publishing are producing the series, making it the first official instance these aliens will feature outside of the canonical film timeline.
