'Great Stuff, Jeremy - I admired these from afar while the project was in development! It all translated beautifully on-screen! I would have loved to have seen these sets!'
AC concept artist Jeremy Love:
'Hey Steve, thanks man, your work is mind blowing. Hope I've given you credit where it's due in my folio. Actually I preferred the deep CRT style monitors you had on the early bridge models. But I guess it will make its way back to that over the next few films.'
AC concept artist Steve Burg:
'Well, you did a great job with all these things, and it all looks very impressive in the film. You never know what's going to happen, I hope they make another one. It was a great opportunity, and what an amazing group of talented folks. My only regret is I would have loved to have spent some time there, and get to know everybody. Well, maybe in the future.'
Jeremy Love writes:
'For Alien Covenant I worked mainly in the Set-Dec Dept. under the direction of Victor J. Zolfo, and occasionally Production Designer, Chris Seagers.'
'A fair bit of work was done remotely from my home studio, however I did spend a few months in Sydney’s Fox Studios, Art department. Where I was able to experience this film in full production. The giant sets and creature department were amazing to visit. Here are a few selected concepts from my time working on this project. Definitely a dream come true to work on such a seminal and influential franchise alongside such talented artists.'
Terra-forming Bay – Truck:
Med Bay Table: 'Steve Burg created the Med Bay interior initial concept models. I then designed a number of different table ideas. One of these designs which resembles the table in the original Alien film was chosen.'
'The Cryo pods were designed by Steve Burg. I took the initial design and explored a few slightly different directions. While these variations were mostly un-used, the black bordered window was chosen as an addition. I then Proceeded to illustrate a detailed version of the exterior, along with working out handles, decals, vents etc.'
'The Lander’s Ammo Hold. Faris panics and mistakenly shoots the ammo cabinet causing it to explode. Because of this, Ridley wanted the cabinet to really look volatile and explosive. I did many iterations for this one but in the end a simple set of orange doors were settled on. This was a visual nod to the doors in the original Alien Film. The cargo area which the Ammo Cabinet is situated, was created by Steve Burg.'
'Check out more work from this film on my website, cheers!' www.jeremylove.com

Indeed there are some very good concepts here, some slightly different to what we see in the movie, and i am sure if RS/FOX push ahead with a AC Sequel within the next 1-2 years that a number of the Team will be called back together again.
They would have to Re-create parts of the Covenant Ship again for the next movie, even if most of it does not take place on board the Ship, i.e if we dont have say a hour of the movie wondering around the Ship.
But they would still need to keep/reproduce some of the Sets and Cryo-Pods etc.
And also not forgetting with some incoming Parties, this gives the chance for other Ship Designs and maybe some of them wont be as Advanced as the Covenant ship but more closer to the Nostromo
