It’s good to read these comments made by you:

Facehuggers!:

’Simply put, Alien: Covenant is wonderful!

With astounding landscapes, emotional performances, intriguing conversations, brutal fight sequences, explosive visual effects, intense practical effects, nostalgic opening titles, and a great use of classical music, Alien: Covenant is a masterful juxtaposition of the sublime and grotesque.

Forget Prometheus, this is an Alien film!’

Raido:

’I enjoyed the film immensely as well. The more times I watch it, the more I enjoy it. There's a lot going on in the film, and its overall tone is very Gigeresque (I'd argue the most Gigeresque of the series aside from the original film). It's beautiful but grotesque, erotic yet terrifying. Creation and destruction, sex and death, linked inescapably--like Giger's art.’

Snake:

’Forget Prometheus, this is an Alien film!

Right! And def the best one in 25 years!’

Neomorph:

’It's a thrilling ride for sure, packaged in beautiful art.’

IRaptus:

’At first Covenant wasn't what we all expected. but once you look closer, beyond the face value of the film, it is a truly thoughtful and insightful film full of hidden treasures.’

Starlogger:

’@Facehuggers I'm with you! My wife is too. And she's no Alien fan by ANY means, but she says she cannot stop thinking about it. Now THAT'S a good movie!’

Tonehound:

’Well said, Facehuggers and everyone else above :) I love this movie and have been a fan of A L I E N since 1979. I have seen it go from a brilliant, ground breaking sci-fi horror film to a B grade comedy. Ridley coming on board and revitalising the franchise was akin to the second coming to many of us and I sometimes wonder if he isn't throwing it back in our faces with his last supper references and assorted eggs he installs ;) But even watching A:C in Hungarian (I truly thought it was Spanish, Ati, LOL) the visuals and story line are still there and I can just as easily immerse myself into his world.

Damn straight! I think it's awesome too :)’

Vivisected Engineer:

’Truly a masterpiece of a film! I watched it in theater four times, and read the novel! (Some parts of the novel were so delightfully written I re-read them multiple times, occasionally performing dramatic read-alouds for whoever within earshot I could coerce into listening).

...Is it possible that I am addicted...?’

Lawrence of Arabia:

’The opening between David and Weyland, the interaction between Walter and Daniels, the back burster, the mouth burster (that had to hurt!), the Neomorphs, the reveal of Shaw's fate (I actually enjoyed it, sad for Shaw but the grimness was fitting), "I'll do the fingering" flute scene, the first chestburster, and seeing the Protomorph in action! There's more but these are the highlights for me…’

RZA:

’I really enjoyed that anytime something ominous was about to happen you heard that eerie sound playing in the background. Especially when they first encounter the pathogen and hell ensues! LOL Truth be told.. I really cannot think of anything I did not like about AC!’

Cerulean Blue:

’I loved this movie!  I was almost too excited for it to get going & then it was over.’

NassaDane:

’This was a phenomenal film. Anything with the robots in it was perfect, the Neomorph, the Med Bay scene, the standing tall Neomorph, the David switch reveal, cinematography (oh my god the cinematography), David anything again, beginning David, bombing of the Engineers...’

Ati:

’I like Covenant very much and this fact is positively surprising for me. It gave me more than I had expected, but I should admit I am not story-centred - I always focus on visuals and atmosphere in a movie. However, I believe the story is OK, the movie acts well as a bridge to the next chapter(s).’

Farlander:

’COVENANT don't insert completely new concepts or actual twists in the story - it's a bridge, as @Ati said, and it's awesome like that. I have nothing against the 'negative' opinions at all, but I think people should understand that the prequels to the original A L I E N are PREQUELS, and not attempts to make a movie as similar to Alien as possible. Ridley is telling a story - all we had was one single chapter, presented to us in 1979. I can't see why the other 'chapters' need to have same 'atmosphere', same 'horror', same 'gore' or whatever, since they're showing different events - connected, but different. Obviously, as part of the same franchise, we're not going to watch an Alien movie without complaining in case we get the damn teletubbies on it, but that's not the case. Sir Ridley is trying to build up the whole thing, Covenant was very Alien, very deep, and I think we'll only be able to "judge" it properly when the whole series is finished.’

Thank you!

What none of Mine ;)

I am glad people enjoyed it... i felt it was disappointing but i understand why, i think its a shame the Movie did not have a Larger Budget to allow to improve some Effects... its a shame we never got 2hr 45min so some scenes had to not be Rushed for sake of having to fit within a time constraints..

I think its a Shame the movie was aimed to make it for a Cert 15 and not a 18...

I think on Paper the Story was not so bad, potential was there, and i totally understand every single reason for why things was the way they where.

I cant wait until i purchase a Copy, ans hopefully the more i see the movie the more it will grow on me like Prometheus has.  And i think the Prometheus/David/Engineer Elements that was not covered so much.. do leave a lot to debate which i think was the Ace Card for Prometheus...  a Spoon Fed Prometheus would have left little to debate.

I cant wait to see the deleted Scenes, and i will have to Read the Novel so i can see the Potential that he Movie had if it was not for having to work within certain restrictions.

Some Totally Dislike AC... i can find more to dislike Alien Resurrection than i can with AC and i think Prometheus has its flaws too... its the Bold Plot in Prometheus that is what i found good about the movie... if it was not for the Bold Plot and if it was a Spoon Fed a bit.... i think Prometheus would not have been too good to be honest.

Prometheus gets a 65/100 from me... yet i am drawn to watching and studying it over and over more than even Alien (87/100) and Aliens (78/100)   Prometheus was a 5.5/10 that has grown on me... Aliens was a 9/10 then has just became Popcorn as i get Older.

And so Alien Covenant which i give 6/10 generously i wonder if it will grow on me too.

But i am really happy that a lot of people here enjoyed this movie.

And i cant wait to get the Blu-ray and maybe DVD too.

BigDave I think your sig sums up nice and tidy like what you thought-

I hope that the only AWAKENING we are in for is FOX/RS wake up and learn from their mistakes.

At least there wasn't a Spinal Tap style two word review- "S#@t Sandwhich".
