The image in question shows a positively remarkable Engineer face.
’This face would have been featured at the back of the ampule chamber behind the giant head. Perhaps it would have been where the relief featuring an Alien or Deacon like creature posed in a cross form would be found.’

Alex/Gutalin did a ton of remarkable concept work for PROMETHEUS, including female Engineers, different ships etc.
I absolutely love his work. The impression it gave me was that there was originally going to be more Engineer backstory, but then everything was pulled back, so we had very little exposition about their culture etc in the finished film.
I still hope that they will feature more of the Engineers in the future and that Gutalin's work could be prominent. Otherwise it is a waste of beautiful and new ideas.

Hi Lone. I do think we are going to see more of the Engineers' story in the upcoming Alien movies and novelizations.
The description of the Alien: Covenant movie mentioned nothing of the Engineers and the movie had a great portion of it related to the Engineers.

Yeah seems this was a idea they had before they replaced it with the Big Head Statue... i like the very Robotic Look this has.
Its almost like a Terminator kind of idea... and what if indeed the Hierarchy above the Engineers where Robots as this, who was created by another Less Human Race Millions of years ago... This Bio-Mechanical beings overthrew their Organic Creators and Created a Organic Versions of themselves (Engineers) who then overthrow these Robotic Gods...
And we come full circle with now David a Robot taking up the King/God role
