So curious
MemberOvomorphMay-24-2017 7:42 PMHey!
I am interested in sharing some theories here because, as my name implies, I am SO CURIOUS about David, Shaw, Alien:Covenant, and Beyond
Here are some basic theories of mine:
1. As for Shaw's relationship with David, I suspect that David did love her. However, the love evolved to levels Shaw did not care for. Shaw rebuffed David's advances (which explains David's answer to Daniel's question of "What did you do to Shaw" as "Exactly what I am going to do to you.") David then kisses Daniels, so David likely tried to kiss Shaw. The relationship soured and David kills her. I believe, and this is unfounded, that Shaw in some way plays into the origination of an Alien Queen. Perhaps an aspect of Shaw is sufficently preserved and growing, changing VERY slowly. She may be infected, leave the planet in a Space Jockey suit and crash on LV-426. The Queen busts out of her chest and lays all of the eggs. This actually comports a bit with the Biblical and Paradise Lost references, because Lucifer's girlfriend/wife in Paradise Lost, when sent to Hell, became pregnant and gave birth to "death" and was all messed up. Here, on their shared quest for Paradise, David and Shaw went to "hell" and Shaw, David's "girlfriend" gives birth to Death, as either the Eggs or as the Queen.
2. Walter is alive on Paradise, NOT dead. Walter explores the planet (thus giving the opportunity for flashbacks to David's time on the planet). Walter MAY find evidence of Shaw, as well. Walter eventually finds a ship, and takes off in search of Daniels to rescue her.
3. David finds a way to breed a type of facehugger that implants into an Android. He winds up (somehow) in the ship from LV-426 in a Space Jockey suit, infected with this Android-adaptable form of Xenomorph spawn. David crashes (or arrives, whichever) on LV-426 and the new breed bursts from his chest and is revealed to be a Queen, thus explaining the eggs seen in Alien.
4. This may not need any saying, but it seems clear to me that David contacted Weyland which sent the Covenant to him. This is so because David explains to Captain Oram (right before Oram is face-hugged) that David and the eggs were "waiting for Mother" (in response to Oram's question "What were you waiting for?"). Mother, I take it, references the name of the AI system on Covenant. This theory is supported by Mother responding to David's access code in the closing scene as David enters "Valhalla," so to speak.
5. Where does David get the peeled back humanoid in this lab, how does he produce the same neomorphs as burst forth from the crew? I suspect that David has been receiving occasional humans from Weyland during his 10 year stay. The Covenant is just the latest and largest batch.
6. Last, and last because it is a stretch, is that Shaw is NOT dead, but is evolving slowly or will be modified by Walter/found by Walter.

MemberOvomorphMay-24-2017 10:59 PMI have a question for your theory #4. If the Weyland company was communicating with David, why didn't the company send them straight to the planet David was on instead of Origae-6? (His planet was even closer than Origae-6)
I always thought that David was doing Shaw a favor by using her to create Alien offsprings since she was unable to have babies (as messed up as that sounds). This would raise the question of how David did use Shaw to create life if she's infertile?
Another reason why I think David killed Shaw was so that she could finally go to Heaven and meet God, her maker.
