Also, as a strictly raised catholic that diverted to agnostic; I do not care about all the religious hoopla.

Thought I'd add as the counter position to your experience, I am a strictly raised protestant that ignored my religion as a teenager, became a true Christian believer/thinker in my 20's, and then eventually thought my way into the agnostic realm as well.
That said, I can't deny I do love the religious hoopla of these films. Very much because I like playing with the idea that there may be some truth to these religious myths, but the reality may turn out to be a completely horrific nightmare.
Always was a fan of the big "GOTCHA!"
