From the horses mouth:

"1 May 2017

The official release date of the novelization of ALIEN:COVENANT is 23 May. In it I have tried, as I always have over the years, to be as true as possible to the film while adding what original material I could. As for ALIEN:ORIGINS, the original novel that fits chronologically between PROMETHEUS and AC, in it I hope to have been able to have added a tiny bit to the canon. As always, I work as a combination author and fan, and I think (I hope) that comes through in the finished work."

Yeah, we knew this. He listed the book as Alien: Origins on his site for a while and he said it will be set before Covenant, but i didn't read this until now. Thanks for sharing.
I'm looking forward to this A:C prequel book. I hope we will get some answer from it.

How much input will Ridley have had or is this all just purely from ADF's mind?  I will read it either way but am less interested if it is the latter.  I want Ridley to realize his original Prometheus 2 ideas onscreen at some point, or at least eventually explain everything through flashbacks, but I would settle for those things being incorporated into this novel.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.  I watched Androids blow and finger each other's flutes.

@phallic yes please on that! I want a true Prometheus 2 with less David and more Engineer/space jockey story

now that sounds instantly more exciting than the A:C "story"

we will have to bend ridleys ear in the way the xeno fans got their way in a:c

im sure there are enough of us just on here.

200 tweets and 10 emails each per day is the quota. lol

still in the planning stages with it but if i can spend years thinking of what might be revealed in a:c after loving prometheus i can surely put some time into a fruitless option with little chance of any effect.   sounds familiar.

Take This.... This is the blood of our lord

Excited. Hope the Originals releases on the same day as well. Prefer to read that first before Covenant.

No release date. Although September is listed for a sequel (or maybe a prequel). Nobody seems to know which it is.

Cheers Phallic Jaw.

Dont suppose you know any info on a Prometheus Official Novelisation do ya?.

I read there is one where Lindelof was involved that only got released in Japan. I'm baffled why there's not one we can buy in English.

Great link Qubism.

I can only assume that Ridley Scott mentioned Alien: Awakening for the prequel movie title because of the Alien Origin movie that came out in 2012.
