In the Shaw clip we can see a pulse that originates from the chair she is sitting at outwards. Is this the pulse that perhaps eliminated the humanaoids on the planet? Or was it something else? An emp?

Isnt there a soundtrack title called neutrino burst or something? Maybe thats the defence mechanism for the engineers, and hobbles the juggernaut, causing the crash. I think shaw does it, but why she would do it when she wants answers is a mystery, unless she has already got her answers.........

Apex_Predator, I believe it is when they turn on the hologram playback. The same thing happened in the tunnel when David 8 started the hologram playback in the pyramid on LV-223.

Whatever was on the walls of the pyramid and juggernaut seem to activate and light up when David 8 worked the controls. It appears that there is a film (see David's fingers) that is on everything that supports holographic playback.

There is a laser array that supports the Dr. Holloway holographic powerpoint on the walls of the Prometheus gym that you can see blinking red during his speech below. I believe the Engineer tech (the sparkly film) performs a similar function in the three dimensional playback and it all lights upon activation.

Also, Dr. Shaw was looking up the whole time during the hologram sequence so I believe there was a display we can't see that she was watching while operating the juggernaut.

Indeed its a different effect to when David used the Control Panel in Prometheus as first he activated the Hologram which only the Engineers appeared as Holograms and nothing on the control panel, then he sees the one Engineer come over and sit in the seat, which is then when the Orrey/Map appears at the center.

so this effect we see Shaw perform is different and you do get the impression of a EMP.

I can only assume David is elsewhere and Shaw sneaks to the active controls and releases something that causes all those Engineers to be Burnt.... as surely its a bit of a Plot Hole if this was the Black Goo, which if the Cinemacon footage is true, David does indeed drop.

So maybe this then also causes the Crash?

Or maybe Shaw and David both decide to Unleash Hell together?

The Big Question is why in either case, would she be singing to "Take me Home"?

Then this Sound may not actually be from this scene and its added in to Fool us, just as i mentioned on another thread like they did with 10 Cloverfield Lane and the Roar heard as the Ship appears over the House.... in the Movie this is not when this Roar happens.

"Isnt there a soundtrack title called neutrino burst or something? Maybe thats the defence mechanism "

Indeed the Neutrino Burst has to apply to some event where Neutrino's can be detected, they are so small that they are hard to detect, much like the Higgs Boson that the only way to detect them for sure would be in a massive event of them, which usually connects to a Super Nova or a Black Hole etc.

Now maybe a EMP or similar Blast caused by the Juggernaught could indeed fit that bill, but the soundtrack may fit a actual shown event of what Shaw has done rather than this actual scene which is when they discover a Hologram of her on the Juggernaught...  which also this Scene is out of Placement for the Neutrino Burst track but thats not to say the Track Listing is how these Tracks will actually play out in Chronological Order

But even so.... it is a possible theory.

@Ingeniero

Indeed yes it could just be similar to when David activated the Hologram the first time of the Engineers running towards the Big Head/Ampoule Room.

But then we already see the Hologram of Shaw is active before we see this like burst.... maybe it could be what happens after the Hologram dis-activates?

I am sure something similar happens in Prometheus but only surrounding the Orrey and i am not sure it effected the Hologram Engineer at the control panel, i think he just turns off LOL

Possibly, the hologram of Shaw has to do with her leaving LV-223, and flying the Juggernaut under David's guidance, he was decapitated and that would take time to repair, so she would by default have to be the one operating the controls, and given Shaw's views, she might see the Engineer homeworld as a metaphorical 'Home' of Humanity's?
The 'wave-pulse' could be associated with activation of the juggernaut's hyperdrive.

@Blackwinter-witch

Indeed thats a very good point, it could be the Hyperdrive well spotted.

I think as far as working out if it was Shaw driving the Juggernaught was always one Big Question, we dont know yet how the Juggernaught is fully operated, i mean is the Pilot Chair needed for the duration of the Flight or only for Take Off and Landing?  Or is it only needed when used as a Targeting System for the Weapons?

We could assume Shaw would be in Cryo-sleep, i had it that way in my draft... but the Question really is.

*How does Shaw connect to the Cryo-Pod, the Engineer had a mask and tubes that connected to his suit, are these needed and if not for how long would they not be needed, and if they are needed how does Shaw obtain and get fitted with a Engineer Pressure Suit?

*This would be defined by if the control room can maintain a breathable atmosphere or Shaw has enough Oxygen in her suit to last the Journey.

*And so how long it takes from LV-223 to Paradise in the Juggernaught would answer the need for the above.

The next Question is, how long would these take, say to connect her to the Cryo-pod as surely David would have to be in one piece?

So a lot has to do with Trust, we know David gets his head back on and Ridley Scott ever since Prometheus came out had said Shaw will have no choice but to connect his head at some point.

But does this mean right away, is there no way Shaw can leave without a complete David, and so how much Trust does she have and Choice.

But i think the other thing to remember is HOW/WHEN does David get his head back on.

*How long would this take?

*Does Shaw have the means or time to do so?

*Or are they in a rush?

So indeed many Questions, and indeed from Shaws point of view we have to ask is it going to be Quicker for David to tell her how to work the Ship, or show her while he is in Two Parts, or is it quicker to reattach David and have him do it.

We know for Certain Shaw does indeed sit in the Control Panel, and its interesting to guess when this is and for what reason.

So we cant rule out it being as they leave LV-223, or during where David lets her have a go, or during what ever they do when they arrive on Paradise, or what ever causes the Crash.

So many possible outcomes, but indeed as you said Blackwinter-witch thats a theory of yours that could very well be logical

@ BigDave

TY for noting my theories and points, and you make some good ones also!

I was reading through your post and realized that they give dates in the movie, specifically Shaw's last message, she states it very definitively. So, we have a Limited time-frame to work off, but if Shaw DID reattach david's head prior to leaving, then she's either superlatively skilled or there's some manner of self-repair system David has built-in that aided the process considerably.

It's possible Shaw launched and piloted the ship from the console, and after fixing David they then worked out her hypersleep and suit requirements in-flight.
