AC: 2000 Deaths

I hope they all become hosts for the facehuggers so that we see around 2,000 Aliens ;)

...So if the entire colony ship gets chest bursted...What are the aliens going to do then? Makes a real stale movie...

I was thinking at the end of the movie, like as a "SURPRISE!" type thing to give the fans a little jolt, Homage to Aliens.

2000 humans...  That would require 2000 eggs, or just some spores.  The real question is what happens to that cargo.  

I am not sure if the Covenant is supposed to land or shuttle colonists and equipment some other way. That makes me think a lot of killing may happen in space.

what if all 2000 cryo colonists somehow  get eggmorphed and the result of that is all the eggs Kane finds on the derelict on LV426 in Alien...horrific, haunting and it makes sense.....because i do not feel like Ridley will include a queen in his films since that is a creature not of his creation....i also hope eggmorphing is included because it is so ghastly and it would make such a statement storywise

This bleeds into another thread though. Could those passengers be loaded onto the Juggernaut and then flown to LV 426 or maybe it just sits there wrecked and the planet is later called LV 426? Difficult to keep some of these threads straight.

I feel you are correct, i have thought that for a while. Somehow part of Davids manipulations and experiments he somehow eggmorphs them all...it would be eerily dreadful , imagine you go into cryo only to never wake up only to become some ghastly egg part of some unexplainable creatures reproduction cycle....even though its only in Ridleys Directors Cut i have always felt the egg morphing concept was one of the more disturbing and frightening things ive ever seen put to film.......they could even up the macabre and have a crew member at the end get face hugged and somehow find out that it was from an egg that use to be a loved one , knowing their death is a result of this hideous thing that use to be their loved one....what a haunting and grotesque idea, enough to drive the character mad, because they would have just enough time before they died during chestbursting to discover the fate of their loved one and the role that played on their death...dark dark dark but it would be a great way to go if done right 

@Grinning & Dropping... wow, that is a harrowing thought. I hate egg morphing (just like I hate "vase morphing" and all that mess...sounds like an "easy" fix to any story, along the lines of "time travel"), BUT... if Sir Ridley is gonna make it Canon, then I'll play along with it...for now.

*David leaves with the Covenant and 2000 Hosts

*End up back at LV-426 and David those Eggs and 2000 Colonists are where we get the Eggs and Derelict

There is just so many holes and flaws to this, unless Ridley Scott as lost his marbles and wishes to piss all over the Franchise worse than AVPR did?

Explain the Space Jockey? And Ridley Scott did say it was a Engineer before... and thousands of years old.

If i was asked to write a story that would continue on.. and bare in mind This Movie will End

With Daniels and maybe 1 or two others (likely one) and one of David/Walter on the Covenant as they now set off into Space... BUT WHERE?

Next movie they awake to find David has let go of some Face Huggers or such and the crew is infected and we face a Hadleys Hope MK2 set on the Covenant, where at the End Daniels escapes and Blow the Ship up.... REALLY?

This is a Re-hash of Aliens if so... and how does this lead to Alien? 

We need to think how does AC lead to at least One more movie to cover the ground work and a 3rd movie if we need to be Spoon Fed the Space Jockey event?

If this is where they are going, then it only makes sense for David to be on board and they think its Walter and instead of going to where they was supposed to (prior to picking up Davids signal on Paradise) they set off to their old destination.

Only once again David now takes them back to LV-223

We get a lot of Hell break loose on LV-223, at the End David bites the Dust...  the Covenant is used to destroy LV-223 or it crashed on LV-223 and its used to do so...

But the Colonist are rescued and stuck into a Juggernaught in order to make their escape.... maybe another Ship comes in to meet them and we see the Evil Weyland-Yutani Corps Agenda.

Maybe a Engineer or similar arrives and saves the other Colonist and gets onto the Juggernaught to try and escape and save those Colonist.

But regardless the ship Takes off, but it crash lands on LV-426 and over the time between now and Alien the Colonist are turned into Eggs.

Ridley claims the Derelict was a Weapon Ship carrying Weapons and not a Rescue ship... and so we have to think how else to Eggs get on that ship?

I feel David turning the Colonists into Eggs then the long task of transporting them to a Derelict is a long long road... and not best way to do it

Don't forget there are supposed to be 2-3 more movies after this.  So there may not be an immediate tie in.  We're putting the buggy in front of the horse.

perhaps David infects most of the cryo colonists, but the cryo stasis keeps the transformtions dormant....they leaves Paradise with surviving crew, they leave the planet thinking David is Walter.....they somehow encounter some ancient evil behind the black goo, a higher older more evil power and "alien" being than the Engineers. Possibly they encounter this ancient evil due to what David has done, his activity has somehow alerted these beings to his presence and by association the Covenant. Most of the movie would be the surviving crew and a few unaffected cryo colonists whio were woken up fighting with or running a foul of these Ancient Alien beings as well as a few of possibly Davids creations. I feel that at some point they (whoever survives) will encounter something hellish and will try to escape and crash on what we know of as LV426...i feel that this crash could somehow involve a juggernaut, i feel they will retcon the idea that eggs were not in a cave but in a lower part of the juggernaut to make it work, just as they retconned the Space Jockey into just being a suit (i didnt like that i would prefer if it was some form of ancient evil creature)....maybe David's creation is his undoing. Or what he brought forth by his actions is his undoing as well as the rest of the covenant colonists. Maybe he uses Walter to develop the bio-mechanical aspect of the xenomorph creature and facehugger and possibly once the biomechanical versions of these creatures are set loose one attaches to him, perhaps he is in the suit on the juggernaut. The movie ends with all the colonists in the wreckage below the juggernaut slowly mutating into eggs while David gets facehugged by one of his own creations although this time he is not immune to it anylonger since he has evolved them into biomechanical versions of the original. Maybe the next movie ends with him sitting in the pilots chair feeling something close to regret and remorse for what he has done as he has not only created something that is mans downfall but his own...so it comes full circle...man created him...he created things that killed man...his creations killed him....anyway perhaps he feels regret and remorse and his fate is sealed and the movie fades to black setting up the original 1979 ALien film.

I know probably not but its just a bunch of crazy thoughts, but i think and ending similar to that would fall in line with the creation mythos that Ridley Scott has mentioned in the past about creating the element of your own undoing and how that all connects...its just fun to speculate, thats what makes this film universe so great

There was no Derelict or Eggs prior to Alien Covenant..

And i would like to add to that Rick indeed as you pointed out we have 2 more movies after this before we get all our answers to Alien or arrive at that Scene where the Space Jockey is on that Moon with his Cargo

I certainly think they are backing themselves into another corner with this route... as i tried to figure out how can we go from a Colony Ship with nearly 2000 Colonist, Daniels and at least One Android leaving with that ship after the Hell that went down on Paradise.

How does a Colony Ship and nearly 2000 Cryo-Stasis Colonists and a Android follow on with TWO movies to Alien?   How can you cover such a thing?

My attempt was to show indeed a way, but one that ultimately does not need 2 movies.. and again is not what i would want to see.

I think indeed as Grinning & Dropping Linen pointed out and covered in what they would do, we need more than just the Ship 2000 colonist and a David..... even bringing in WY and some underhanded corruption would still maybe not justify TWO movies more?

*They go back to LV-223 (Covenant) or another World Related to the Engineers.

I just cant buy them doing the same as Shaw being as though they wrote her off a bit... and that is that Daniels goes "I want to go to who ever created those Temples and Black Go and get Answers"  With what 2000 Innocent souls?

The only way to gain any Millage out of it for TWO movies would be they have to bring the Engineers or their Hierarchy back into it at some point.

Ridley Scott said he was coming in from the Rear End, the Back Door to Alien with AC...  Now going forwards would usually mean like Star Wars EP 1 Phantom Menace to EP 6 Return of the Jedi..  But that dont work if you watch it like that...

SW EP 4 a New Hope was the first.. if his is our Alien so to speak... Prometheus maybe is our Rogue One

I wonder if the back door means a case of going EP 4, 3, 2 then 1 ?  Instead of saying Alien Covenant is EP 1 and we o 2, 3 till we reach EP4 New Hope AKA Alien?

So could other movies touch upon Ancient events?  Seems Prometheus 2 was setting up for this...  Ridley seems to now hint the scope is HUGE... but some think he means he can crank out Xeno Flicks over and over and over... they are wrong.

Is there any proof the Juggernaut of Prometheus is not the Alien Derelict?

i had the same feeling the masses we see in the trailer being destroyed might not possibly have to be engineers but 2000 colonists from the cargo ship :-) 

or mr Fassbender manages to turn them all into the eggs we see in alien, i doubt too there is a alien queen, Ridley Scott and James Cameron have never liked each other after the feud with Aliens. Believe me, thats the last Ridley would do to compliment his competator

by the looks of thing the alien we see in AC is very different, tho similar in many ways, to the big chap we get in the original alien movie. the protomorph is very organic looking when compared to the xeno. we still have at least 2 more instalments. I think ridley will go down the egg morphing route and what if, during the morphing process of the sleeping colonists, there is a blending of organic and mechanical material?

on the LV223 and LV426 theories. If I remember correctly a signal was detected from LV426 before LV223 ( promethues ship went there first because of shaw) for that reason I believe that the derelict has been there for a long time and kills the idea that the covenant lands on LV426 plus the fact that they're going into uncharted territory so the system is not mapped. If David is behind it in anyway I think he just recreates what has already been created. what would be crazy is if david somehow injected the black goo into the cryo system of those 2000 sleeping and the movie ends lol
