David is an android, so I see no need for him to paint / print large pictures of facehuggers and xenos, since he has digital memory, and the specimens all laid out neatly and labeled on the table seem like the style of a living organism, not David. Why would he display and label things anyway? For his own good? Why the labels? He doesn't need to remember what each object is, hes an android.
Perhaps the room belonged to whatever lived there before, be it human or engineer, and they were the ones experimenting on facehuggers and the black goo, which got out of hand, leading to their destruction, and the black burnt bodies we also see in the trailer.
Just my thoughts on the matter.

MemberOvomorphMar-01-2017 2:59 PMWhy would david need to catalog and label all those specimens on the table and print/paint all the pictures on the wall?
maybe he didn't, and the residents of the planet did before he got there....david simply took the lab/workshop over.
Or, he was simply fulfilling a bizarre need to catalog and display things, kinda like when he put Shaw's crucifix necklace in a jar and kept it with him.

MemberFacehuggerMar-01-2017 3:26 PMI agree with you, at first it seemed to may be his lab. However if you look in comparison to the scale of the humans and the drawings not to mention how high they are hanging it doesn't support the theory.
