Did Shaw tell David about the trilobite?

David did not witness the Shaw/Engineer confrontation resulting in the Engineer's fate. They were off the planet when the Deacon busted out. One would think that during a long trip, David may have asked Shaw what happened after she left when the Engineer went berserk.

would make sense as it was david who warned her about him coming after her.

Should've been mentioned in Prometheus at the end, also Shaw mentioning that she just had a squid pulled out of her stomach instead of *cut to next scene* carrying on like nothing happened.

Pinocchio was busy getting his head reattached so he could try to become a real boy.  Besides, its not like he could I-spy anything from inside a gym bag.

Err...are you OK Rick? XD

LOL, you don't get the Pinocchio reference?  Holloway was always giving David shit for not being "a real boy".  Chli got me on stuck on head kick, can't help it.

Oh and Shaw put Davids HEAD in a bag at the end of the movie and zippered him up in it.  No I spy for the blind bagged head.

Indeed!  I'm not going to get all Prom bashy but that bit does jar with me.  I suppose in its defence she was probably worn out, drugged up and in a state of perpetual shock with possible PTSD at the time.  Given who she then bumps into and what she finds out about you'd forgive her for changing her priorities.

Still, had the Prometheus flown back to Earth it would have taken with it the giant face hugging squid!  So the sacrifice was the only option really - unbeknownst to Janek and the crew though . . .

That's possible, and I did find her acting pretty decent during the surgical scene but that's about it imo.

Given who she then bumps into and what she finds out about you'd forgive her for changing her priorities.

Fair enough, if it wasn't for the fact that this was another horrible facepalm-inducing moment that probably had the most underwhelming plot twist in recent memory, topped with "yes father" by a stiff Theron. Ugh...

Running and jumping around with abdominal muscles cut? Literally impossible. I've had my calf muscle completely (not partially and not stretched which is more common) ripped apart during a physical exercise, and I couldn't walk for 3 weeks. Maybe most people look past this detail but I thought it was brutally illogical.

@Neomorph - To me it's all about how far we can take our suspension of disbelief.  That really is up to the Director and I feel RS made a few boo boos for sure in Prom.

That said, looking at the deleted scenes I get the feeling his hands were tied somewhat - pressured to have less of this, more of that etc by the good people at Fox . . .

Almost a case of, 'you can make your films but we insist on seeing x, y and z.'

On the flip side, he made a visual treat and expanded the mythos.  He also began answering the questions that have bugged me since watching ALIEN all those years ago - who, what & why the xeno and SJ.

I could pick holes until sunset but I choose ;) to focus on the better parts of it.

(If you rewatch ALIEN(s) there are some pretty daft things in it and some weird events - how did they get Kane back up to the SJ room without more infections, for instance?  The behaviour of and choice of Gorman for the mission?)

My hopes are high for AC - I think we will see a much slicker film with all that was good about both Prom and ALIEN.  My fear is its a xeno flick and not much more but from what I've seen/read it looks to be much more than that :)

Well said Deep Space, I don't mind AC being a Xeno flick as long as it's well-written. A simple good story is better than a poorly written mess.

I don't mind some ambiguity either, as long as the narrative is in focus and on track.

It's pretty clear David wasn't warning shaw about the approaching Engineer altruistically, isn't it? It was all about self-preservation to save Shaw so she could "rescue" him and repair him. Also, no one ever finds out about the Deacon, right? Everyone was presumably off planet by the time it was "birthed", aye?

starlogger, shaw mustv wondered at some point surely what happened to the engineer. although her first assumption would be it ate him but then what became of the trilobite?
