The Neomorphs

I would maybe be cautious regarding the Neomorph leak...

The only offical account was via a Fassbender interview in regard to the Kane Chest Buster in Alien, he called the Chest Buster a Neomorph...

Maybe this is more than just his interpretation as to how he could pull of such a interesting Phrase...

First though lets look at the Term Morph... in terms of fixing a prefix... then Morph can mean Transform, Change or Evolve.. but when we look at it in context to a Prefix such as Xeno which means Alien or Foreign then Xenomorph Translates to.. Alien-form... to describe indeed the Alien was totally a Alien Form...

So if we apply Neo in the same context.... Neo would mean either New or Young.... thus New-Form, or Young-Form

The Chest Buster... and even in the case of Kanes... was the Young Form of the Alien-Form (Xenomorph)... also a New Born baby is well New because its Born.... so New/Neo could mean Born Form... meaning again Neomorph is just maybe a word that fits what the Chest Buster is...

This could be how Fassbender added the Word... but he could have got it from being on set or from the script for Alien Covenant where Chest Buster is refereed to as Neomorph Stage.

And so it may not mean a different Organism at all..

But then it could do....  we had that leak about the Spores.. its seems interesting and something that could happen..... in Star Beast which was the Draft that Alien evolved from.. the Eggs were called Spores...

The Neomorph leak.. which it think is not connected only just marked as connected after the Spore Leak... and how spores are breathed in and produce Chest Busters that come out of different parts of the body and description how they walk on fours like the Bambi Buster in Alien 3....

Then we had those leaked Photos from Props on Alien Covenant and they looked like some of the unused Prometheus ones... where the Baby head like Organisms walked on 4 limbs... actually they walked like the Crab Stance that the Xeno in Alien and Fifield did.

So articles on the internet pieced Fassbenders comment with that leak and then those photos.. to come up with the YES this is the Neomorphs..

This is not to say that none of it is correct though...

You kind of beat me to it... as far as your two posts... i was going to make a thread... i will tomorrow ;)

But yes i can cover some of it here... as its relevant..

I dont buy the Whole Spore thing not how it was explained... and have a better more fitting idea for how Spores could work and those Baby Looking Aliens...

The whole breath in Spores that create a Chest Buster type event is flawed.... unless its a a Fluke... where a number of Spores do cluster together and fuse and evolve into a Organism... so if they breathed in say 1000 Spores.... it was a one off chance that say 300 grouped together and merged to start a Evolution Process to a Organism... because if one Spore can produce and evolve into a Organism that Chest Bursts out of a Human.... then how come they do not have like many Organisms growing out of them?

I like to speculate and try and make the clues fit to what the Plot could be.... and when doing that i felt (and if i was writing the draft i would) that if the spores perform one or more of the following...

1) Infects the DNA like Black Goo... so we get a Human turn into a Hybrid eventually like Fifield.. or other concepts.

2) The Spores Evolve the Human to become something like a Egg.. i.e a Egg Morph or similar.

3) My ideal way i would have gone... Spores make Humans ill but maybe as per 1) the effect on them is slow.. or maybe much more minor.... but a Spore gets through and infects a Females Egg and we get a Organism Created... or if infects a Early Stage Human Pregnancy and we get a Hybrid Baby.

For me a intermate Scene between a infected Pregnant Female and her Partner.... where she then Chest Bursts out a Organism similar to those Baby Looking Props... (and Prometheus unused Babyhead concepts).... if this then chest bursted out... i think this would beat the 1979 Alien one..

The shock of a Couple hoping to settle down and make a new life on a Paradise World... who are having a Baby and then seeing this Baby burst out of her Belly.... their beloved Child... a Horror... would surely be EPIC...

But thats maybe not what we would see... but certainly the way i would go and indeed as far as any Spore infection... or Davids special Cocktails....

Its a idea that fits Logically with what Prometheus had shown us.... Shaws Egg become the Trillobite but if she was say 12 weeks Pregnant then the Fetus would become a whole different Horror.

I do think we could see a number of different Monsters....

Those leaked images were hard to make out some of the stuff in the back ground... what stood out was..

1) Baby Human/Xeno hybrid looking Props... 3 of them similar but different.

2) A smaller chest buster size Alien that looked like some unused Prometheus concepts and a bit like the one model done for a alternative Deacon Chest Buster, it lacked arms and legs and looked like a work in progress peice... also a image on the wall that maybe depicts the design but we only see the back in the Prop...

3) We see a like Hybrid Xeno... like the Alien Resurrection Failed Clone.. well one of them.... to me it looks like a what if a Human was exposed to more Black Goo than Fifield was.

4) i see a pair of what look like Xeno Skulls that look a bit of the Predator 2 ones we saw in that movie...  in the back ground we see a Xeno like Concept... that on closer look... looks like it has a Glass/See through dome over it.. and its very Alien 3 looking which as a matter of fact... so does the Alien Covenant Poster... maybe adds some weight to some of these concepts being used in the movie.

5) i see something similar to this unused Prometheus concept work.... which Dane  Hallett (AC Creature Design) had done a similar piece not so long ago... posted after Prometheus one.. below.

6) We see the Eggs and Face Huger that looks similar to those in Alien Franchise...

Few other bits and bobs in the back ground too...

Well in human reproduction, all it takes is one sperm cell out of millions that are produced to form an embryo so... don't discount anything. I guess we just have to wait and see, because news has been pretty scarce since the poster dropped.

I can see what you mean and this is my point...

The Sperm Cell has to get to the Egg Cell... then signals are sent to halt the production of more Eggs....

The only logical way Spores could work other than to infect a Egg, or to have enough come together to join and then evolve..

would be that when a Spore or Hundreds enter a Body.... signals or chemicals are sent.. so that only One Spore Evolves into a Organism... or signals then allow the Spores to come together to join and form a Organism.

otherwise if One Spore can Evolve to One Organism.... a Host would surely have more than one grow in there body instead one ONE?

This is the one thing i was a bit iffy with as far as that supposed leak..

The others are the mention of Eggs, and seeing Egg set and also Egg Props... how do the Eggs come to be?  surely not from the Spore Born Organism? who knows.

The other is Ridley said something is Evolving a Creature, the Engineers made (or played a part in.. or created with their Black Goo).... which again maybe does not add up so much to the Spore Leak?

Not that we cant rule Spores out though....

We have seen those Props of Baby Head Aliens that are based of some Prometheus Concepts... if we logically follow what Prometheus showed us..

The Logical conclusion i could come up with such a design would be maybe the infection of a Baby... or a Baby Fetus at some latter stage than Egg.

Thinking a combination of Alternative Fifield concepts... and what these kinds of Transformations would do to a Baby or a Early Baby Fetus..... and also how the Goo infected Shaws Ovaries.

These leaked Props of these Baby heads... also had a collection of big head looking big eyed Skulls...... but those with keen eye would know these are indeed New-Born Baby Skulls....

This maybe does not mean David is experimenting on Babies and keeping Skulls lol...

But maybe the Concept Artist used actual Baby Skulls as a basis to help with design elements of the Baby head looking Aliens.

The Covenant having Couples... also to me with this.. leads me to think we could see some Xeno DNA infected Babies..... and what a Horror that would be..

Not trying to suggest that the leak is not correct however...

I just think its flawed... in part.. and so i offered some better suggestions... which i would do if i was working on the movie... this is however not to say that the Spores being inhaled and produce Aliens is not a valid way to explore a new Organism

That leak i dont think described Baby Heads anyway.. it was more the one Shaw Chest Buster... which is not really like those Baby Heads...

But there was concept in the leaked props that looked a bit like the one Shaw/Watts Chest Buster....

For Spaights draft but then a similar design was used for alternative Ultramorph and also Deacon too.

Alternative Ultramorph... and next alternative Deacon.

So indeed they could re-use something like this... and who knows how it could come to be...  the Spore theory is good.. but unless only One Spore is released that is breathed in.. i think its flawed unless there are explanations like i mentioned.

We do have the one Prop that seems to be small and from behind that does looks like the above designs.....

Also we have that large Head that is similar... but to me the Head Sculpt looks more like a Advanced Mutation similar to Fifields (well alternatives).  It looks more like a Human that is infected with quite a bit of Black Goo...

Then it could be a infected Baby Chest Buster that has grown to a Adult Stage and as it grows takes on more Xeno DNA traits..

Who knows... but i do think we are going to see more than just Egg, Face Huger, Chest Buster and Big Chap that are very close to the Xenomorph.. i.e the Poster.
