MemberOvomorphNov-24-2015 8:59 PMJust read in the Sydney Morning Herald that crew signing up to work on Alien: Covenant in Syndey say pre-production will start before Christmas and shooting will begin April 4th, 2016.
The article also mentions that both Fassbender and Rapace will be heading to Sydney, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. Rapace's involvement could be speculation.
An April start date makes sense, though. With Fassbender busy shooting The Snowman in January it's highly unlikely he'd be prepped and ready to shoot Alien until at least April.

MemberDeaconNov-25-2015 8:05 PMInteresting as yes Fasbenders Schedule would certainly impact the movies production/shooting etc...
The movie is delayed 5 months near enough after Originally (well first Official release date after confirmation the movie is going ahead) and so yes a 4 month Delay in Shooting could cause that..
As far as the synopsis and no shaw...... well that could be for the start of the movie and say first 3rd of the movie etc..... and as speculated we could see a flash back to a event set before these new Travelers land and find David... and this event would be shown latter..
As far as shooting a movie... Scenes are not always and if rarely shot in chronological order...
Indeed some of the first Scenes in Prometheus were actually the last to be shot.
