Is Ridley Scott responding to the criticisms of Prometheus with Alien: Paradise Lost? 3 movies to get to Alien?

From what I have heard of the plot of Prometheus II and it's title Alien: Paradise Lost it seems that Ridley Scott is taking on board and trying to rectify some of the criticisms leveled at the first film and the snippets of plot detail I have heard are promising:

The real Engineers being a dark, eldritch alien race with unspeakable agendas. The albino humanoid engineers are a cloned slave race who serve the true Engineers. "Paradise" is really not paradise as we would understand it. There will be more of a Giger influence to this film. The Milton reference is intriguing though I thought Scott stated that he would get away from "Gods and Monsters" in Prometheus II. I have also heard that there will be some connection to Ripley in this film which I am not so interested in, Ripley was a great character sure but this feels unecessary to me, Shaw is a character who if her role is well served by a good script can fit the Ripley role and I hope we don't find out that she is some relative of Ms. Ripley, that would seem forced and unnecesary.

I think Ridley Scott is on the right track with this film and the positive reviews for The Martian bode well for Alien: Paradise Lost. Although I am wondering if is he being over ambitious planning 3 films before we get to Alien. He certainly isn't a young man any more and though he shows no sign of slowing down yet, the pre - production; principal photography and post production on four films counting Blade Runner II, would have to run to about six years or more, is three Prometheus films a realistic goal given his age? Maybe he could shoot two back to back but three? That's a pretty big task even for a much younger director!

Does anyone know if any of the plot details for Alien: Paradise Lost have any official confirmation as yet?

Well this is something i have covered a lot...  they had a idea for Alien Prequel (Alien: Engineers) it got changed to Paradise as Lindeloff was brought into to explore some elements and tone down or get rid of others from Spaights more Alien-y draft....

Prometheus had disapointment Generial viewers would not have known it was a Alien movie, the Sci-Fi people would have but may had not seen the connections being used as well as could and Alien Fans well some was disapointed.....

They had other idea for Part 2... i think eventually they would give us more clues to the Xeno...... but i think Fox has now gone with the idea that the Alien eventually should play a bigger role in the Franchise, and so they are going back to Alien but maybe not as close as some may expect at least not untill after the end of THE 3RD Movie

The Alien: Title

I think may be more to do with stepping away from the confusion and disapointment as far as getting Prometheus out to the General Public and bringing in Alien: may help to make it more noticeble to new and old viewers...

But i do think Alien Connections would be more deeper than maybe plans when they was first working on ideas of how to follow up Prometheus.

As hyped as I am for all the updates, Be very discerning when listening to Ridley's public statements. He will make a statement one week, then the next week he'll announce something else that completely contradicts what was said before. Sometimes he will even contradict himself in the same statement. It isnt mystique or allure, its just plain cluelessness. He did this during Prometheus as well.

Now remember, he isnt some M Night Shaylaman whose only a one trick pony, whom has to create an aura of confusion in order to sell his wares (similar to Lindelof in that regard). He knows (or used to know) how to tell a story and how to build a myth. I honestly believe Scott has either gone senile or really has no idea what is what or what is going on. I have gotten the vibe since Gladiator that he really doesnt care one iota about the source material or the fanbase for that material. I could list examples but im not trying to tear the guy down.

I guess we shall see. Staying postive.....

Does he even need to respond to criticisms?  If he wants to tell a story about Engineers and is breaking even at the boxoffice, what obligation does he have to respond to critics and backseat drivers?  Why do Aliens need to be crammed into it at all?

(Oh, yeah...  fanboys and Fox's desire for $$$$$.  So long original storytelling.  And lest people say Prometheus was a disappointment at the box office, remember that it broke even in the domestic market, and made $300M from international and video sales.)
