***Possible Spoilers Ahead***

****************************************

I've watched the film yesterday but I had all this time processing what I saw, but the first thing I felt as soon as I left the movie theater was a little disappointment, for certain characteristics that the Jurassic Park films have, that are part of its identity, and this don't have, which in my opinion are:

- All the dinosaurs have a unique roar, but in this film, even species that have been represented in the franchise, such as the T. rex, sound more like a generic monster most of the time. And the Indominus does not have an iconic roar like Spinossaurus in the third film had, for example. And the final roar of Rexy is disappointing.

- The design of the raptors and the T. rex changed so much that, if we saw the animals before knowing that they belonged to the franchise, we would not identify them as part of it. I even go one step further, both seem more real in The Lost World than here, not because of the CGI, but because of the design.

- The Jurassic Park films have all that sense of danger, because the characters are in the middle of beings who are dangerous and deadly. It's something typical of Jurassic Park, there is always tension in the air. In this, it seems that the main characters are aware that, most of the times, it is just a movie and nothing bad is going to happen to them.

- The Jurassic Park films portray dinosaurs as animals. They behave like animals (except JPIII's raptors). Here, except Indominus that behaves as expected from a genetic dinosaur/weapon/killing machine, we have Blue, the raptor with Peter Parker genes, jumping from the back of Indominus to the back of Rexy and again for the back of Indominus. And the flying mosasaur who attacks animals on land.

On a personal note, I was hoping to see Baryonyx, Metriacanthosaurus, Microceratus or even good old Dilo, but only the former made an appearance in form of an hologram.

Apart from that, and judging it as a movie only, I thought it was a pretty good.
The characters are good, I would say better than the previous films, especially Claire, compared to Sarah, Amanda and even Ellie, it proves to be a true heroine and leaves us rooting for her, while Sarah and Amanda were annoying.

Owen in my opinion is the best protagonist of the franchise, only Ian Malcolm is comparable (I'm not a big fan of Alan Grant).

The kids are also the best of the franchise, although I found Gray a bit underworked and annoying in the beginning.

Masrani and Bary deserved greater prominence and Hoskins should have had greater depth, Vincent D'Onofrio deserved. Perhaps if the film had more 20 or so minutes that would be possible.

The scenes of Apatossaurus dying, the view of the park when Gray open the windows, the entry of Rexy, the Mosassarus killing the Pteronodon and Zara and Indominus roaring in the old visitor's center are brilliant!

In short, Jurassic World had the potential to be even better than Jurassic Park, but is only slightly above the The Lost World.

I will watch it again this weekend.

I really loved the movie, but I did not hear the iconic t rex roar? At the end I was waiting and hoping for that epic roar.. But nothing, I was really really disappointed.. Do you think they will/can change it when it comes out on DVD & Bluray? Its so weird they didn't include the roar, it gave me chillings back when I watched JP as a kid, it still does now when I watch the original one :D

Actually, Metriacanthosaurus was in JW. During the Cretaceous Cruise, if you look really carefully through the fog before the ACU vehicles come in, you can see two of them. However, I was pretty disappointed that the spinosaurs didn't appear.

@Svanya: no problem! :)

@Sci-Fi King25: really?! I will watch it again tonight so I will be looking for them!

@MichaelELNM: I loved the movie aswell, but to me it didn't felt like a Jurassic Park movie, comparing JW with the other three is like comparing Gurdians of the Galaxy with Nolan's Batman trilogy (I loved both GotG and Batman trilogy btw). I don't think they will change the roars on Blueray and DVD to be honest...

Oh and i forget something, on the Owen and Clare's first scene together, did any of you hear the Brachiosaurus sound?

*Spoiler Alert*

Am I the only one who noticed that the Dino dung scene wasn't actually in the movie? That, and several of the lines were said differently by the characters.

^I noticed that too. Yet Claire was still covered in dino droppings.
