MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 3:59 PMGodzilla, because is the first time we will see a realistic godzilla no a fake CGI like 98´s Zilla nor a guy with a suit kicking boxes, a Godzilla who looks real, and there are a lot of films about Spiderman, and its a sequel, so we know what are we see, in Godzilla we dont know anything, so I am more eager for Godzilla than Spiderman 2; buuut, after watching other super hero movies, I think that Spiderman will win in box office, but it will be not better than godzilla because we have just a few giant monsters movies, Cloverfield, Pacific Rim, King Kong, Jurassic Park, and they all are diferent, in contrast, we have thousands of super heros movies, and they all are the same.

MemberBaragonDec-10-2013 10:14 PMYou're asking to compare a Godzilla movie with another movie on a Godzilla forum? Yes, these results won't be skewed.
Godzilla looks better imo, but that's because I'm a bigger fan, if you're asking which will do better it will be Spiderman hands down

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 1:42 PMThe problem with this thread is that you cannot realistically compare one franchise to another. They will always have different elements, different "realities," different fans.
Comparing one movie franchise to another is basically the same as comparing an Oreo to a Chocolate Chip cookie. Both have a different look, a different taste, a different fan base.
Godzilla will always hold a more worldwide appeal than Spiderman will, as Spiderman is an American comic book hero. While most of the world knows about him, he's not as internationally respected for symbolism or achievement. Not only is Godzilla older, but he's by far more interesting because there is no way to truly know about him. You can learn everything about Peter Parker and Spiderman by reading the comics or watching the films, but what do you truly know of Godzilla other than the fact that he's a Kaiju?
Where does he truly come from? What exactly is he? How intelligent is he? What does his bone structure really look like? What do his internal organs look like? What do his muscles look like? How much is muscle and how much is fat? How does he produce the radioactive breath? Is there some kind of special gland or organ that allows it to be produced? Does Godzilla have the kinds of emotions and thought processes that allow him to feel "threatened," "scared," "angry," "happy," "vengeful," and all of that?
In the end, Godzilla will always be more interesting and more appealing because there will ALWAYS be a sense of mystery. With Spiderman, you have a cool superhero, but you know too much about him for him to hold your attention almost indefinitely.
That's one of the reasons that most Godilla fans are so attached to Godzilla. They're still learning about him. They're still trying to discover truth from fiction regarding the monster because everything about him is grey area. You don't have that with Spiderman.
