MemberOvomorphSep-25-2013 2:55 AMYeah I wouldn't worry about this, if they're still working on the script Fassbender wouldn't know about anything with any certainty at this point. Although if it were Noomi being interviewed I'm sure she would say they're working on the script lol Fass is too busy these days to really know anything, though he just worked on The Counsellor with Ridley...I just think Ridley is keeping things tight lipped at this stage.

MemberNeomorphSep-25-2013 6:22 AMIMO it seems like he doesn't want to give anything away. Maybe Ridley told him to keep quiet about it, we all know how secretive they all were about Prometheus. And even if he really doesn't know anything about it, that doesn't mean it will never happen.
The poster was good though!

MemberFacehuggerSep-25-2013 8:54 AMHe probably won't know much until the script is nearing completion. And that's going to take a long time.

AdminEngineerSep-25-2013 3:10 PMFassbender couldn't say anything even if he wanted to. He'll continue to say "Don't know". They're bound by strict NDA's, especially with the level of secrecy the next Prometheus film is being clouded in. Even Rapace won't say anything for a while, so don't buy the rumors at this point.
And this really doesn't qualify as an "Interview" - Collider asks a question and Fassbender answers with one word and he can't even talk about it. The fact that they labelled this "Fassbender talks Prometheus 2" is bull and ridiculously misleading. I saw the link and got excited that he might have actually spoke about it, but I was quickly disappointed to find out there was absolutely NO information present.
So, back to the topic - don't let this discourage you. The film is so early in development, Fassbender won't know what's going on and won't be able to talk about what he does know for quite a long while.

MemberOvomorphSep-25-2013 6:29 PMThats why when you read the title its supposed to draw your attention. All advertisements have misleading headlines and its to get peoples attention right away. I ignore anything that involves Prometheus bashing and hardcore Alien dorks do it all the time.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

Yes, there is some sensationalism there, but I guess it's like in the theories of Alien creationism, a magnet for gullible ancient astronauts dorks.

MemberOvomorphSep-26-2013 12:28 AMBTW Chris Picard an the others, thanks for the optimism, I feel better now, and I think the film is a fact and I just hope one thing; Ridley as the director, because I need to see his vision of all this and I worry about his age.

MemberOvomorphSep-27-2013 1:10 AMGetting off topic. Are they making a Lawrence of Arabia remake? I heard they were thinking about having Rob Patterson in it. Personally, I think Michael should take the role.
He does seem to do well at playing the part.

MemberOvomorphSep-29-2013 2:16 PMBloody Disgusting (Sep 20th 2013) who brought us the 'Prometheus2 script writer goes AWOL predict that PROMETHEUS 2 WON'T HAPPEN.
And it's really funny reading some of the responses where people actually think Prometheus was 'an Alien film' or 'an Alien prequel' when it was plainly a 'reimagining of Giger's nightmare world' or 'some sort of REBOOT'.
What say you'all?

MemberNeomorphSep-29-2013 3:13 PM@Custodian, after reading that link and stopping to think about it for a while, unfortunately I do agree with it. A lot of fans of the Alien universe were disappointed, some even angry, with Prometheus and, without a doubt, would have made up the majority of the audience for Prometheus. They would more than likely think twice about going to see a sequel, in fear of it tainting their memory and feelings toward Alien even more.
If they DO make a sequel, I think that they should promote it as something completely separate from the Alien and Prometheus universe! So people go see it not expecting a Prometheus sequel and maybe see that it is a good film before word of mouth gets around? I don't know, how would you go about doing something like that? It is worrying!
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphSep-29-2013 7:56 PMThanks Necronom and yes, many fans were disapointed and I don't think that Fox do a sequel just to please those few fans who loved the film. If we are lucky to have a sequel in the future, likely this movie will be something closer to the franchise.

MemberOvomorphNov-03-2013 3:56 AMThey have to listen to their actors.

MemberDeaconNov-03-2013 12:50 PMEven if worst case scenario they could cast Fassbender just for a short while, have him get into the suit, then upon arrival[ at Paradise, Shaw finds David is welded to the seat and dead...
Also consider David is not Human he is synthetic... thus maybe once his head is off, and reassembled he wont look as Human as before.
By that they only have to cast a Silicone mask of Fassbender to use on another Actor, ok it wont look quite as real etc, but then that could be put down to the head being damaged and reattached etc.
SPFX
If a mask company can make this old man mask, then Fox could fund a much better one that is a cast of Fassbender, and as i said any discrepancies could be down to the head being removed and so some of the synthetic nerves etc are damaged..

MemberXenomorphNov-04-2013 6:57 AMI just think they have a hard time ironing out the very specific nature of the sequel - what concerns me though is how p3 is going to connect to alien - how do they explain the difference in size of the sj and engineers
oduodu
MemberXenomorphNov-04-2013 7:04 AMAre we going to have to wait until the very end of p3 to finally know whether or not prometheus and alien is in the same universe ??? I'm sure then p2 will be something we didn't expect - like p1 to an extent - I think this is where the holdup might be - exactly where will they go with the story ? If they do go away from the xeno then will people actually pay the money to go and watch ?? I think this is the conundrum that faces ridley - fox - brandywine.
BigDave
MemberDeaconNov-04-2013 4:22 PMI think they are going for canon, in that the aim is Prometheus line of events links directly to Alien etc...
i.e Peter Weyland is founder of Weyland, and Charles Bishop etc.
With regards to the SJ well he was about 15ft, yes Ridley tried create a illusion of a 26ft being with child actors that gave us a 22ft + one from one scene to then the close up we could see was smaller and looked like 16ft +...
Actual Prop was 15ft ish
Now Prometheus was supposed give us 12-15ft Engineers and thus would fit with Space Jockey this was then revised to be 9ft tall, which in actual fact anyone could work out the illusion was only 7.5-8.5ft Tops....
This can be fixed as the Elder scene was cut and will never appear in any cut of the movie, this not intended to be seen as part of the movie.
This means they could be redesigned, but also who is to say that the Sacrificial Engineer was not 12ft tall?
And our 8ft Engineers on LV 223 could be just another breed of smaller Engineers.
By having Paradise show the Elders and creators created a number of different classes of Engineer that differ in size could fix the Space Jockey size problem....
They could get away with once fraction being 8-10ft and another cast of Engineers being 10-12ft tall, we would not notice the Space Jockeys extra 3ft then or the Engineers in Prometheus 1ft loss of height.

MemberOvomorphNov-09-2013 7:01 PMThe visual look of the film is not something they want to mess with, but if technical difficulties really prevent a larger space jockey, I think everyone would forgive them for building a giant puppet or the like.
