Welcome ladies and gentleman, to my daily DinoFight. I always appreciate my loyal readers, but for those of you who are new, every day I pit two of the most formidable dinosaurs to ever exist against one another in a fight to the death (most of the time). Medium division, round 1, fight 11: Neovenator vs Tuojiangosaurus InGen File: Neovenator [img]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f2/Neovenator_NT.jpg[/img] Code Name: Hunter Danger Level: Very dangerous Height: 11 feet Length: 33 feet Weight: 3 tons Speed: 28 mph Diet: Various herbivores Weapons: Bite Description: Neovenator is one of the original dinosaurs cloned. It was intended to be an attraction when the park re-opened, but these plans were scrapped when it became apparent that they enjoyed hiding. The animals hid wherever they could, and if they had nowhere to hide, they became aggressive. Luckily it has zero kill record of people. However, a male Neovenator did badly maim one keeper, and it appears that it was because he got too close to the dinosaur while it was feeding. They have a ridge down their back composed of muscle, and its purpose is unknown. When attacking prey, they hook into it with their claws then bite its neck in typical predatory fashion. Their bites are among the most powerful in all of the park proportionate to size. Despite this, it is endangered due to competition with other carnivores and has been driven into one very small range on Isla Sorna where it can hide well, and less than 10 individuals are thought to exist. Not much else is known about Neovenator because it is hard to find them and the plan is to let them go extinct on their own, something which should happen within the next couple years, as the females have died out completely and all of the males are very old. InGen File: Tuojiangosaurus [img]http://www.grandesauri.host22.com/Tuojiangosaurus_archivos/image002.gif[/img] Code Name: Stegosaur B Danger Level: Very dangerous if provoked Height: 8 feet Length: 24 feet Weight: 4.5 tons Speed: 13 mph Diet: Low lying plants Weapons: Thagomizer Description: Tuojiangosaurus is a typical stegosaur. It, like every other, has plates on its back and spikes on its tail. The plates serve many purposes, ranging from sexual display to thermoregulation to intimidation. The spikes on its tail are, as in the other stegosaurs, used to fight off hungry predators. They are over a foot long and very sharp. Even the mighty Allosaurus will think twice about attacking a full grown Tuojiangosaurus! They are harmless to visitors if they don't get too close, and because of this and their vivid blue and tan color, three are planned to be included as attractions in the new park. They will be put in the same paddock as the Stegosaurus and Kentrosaurus among other stegosaurs. Capturing them is easy, as they can be lured into a trailer with food and sedated for transportation. FIGHT! [img]http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120127174620/jurassicpark/es/images/6/6c/Dc_card_tuojiangosaurus_big.jpg[/img] A Tuojiangosaurus walks through a strange region of Isla Sorna. The location is covered in very dense forest, more so than in any other part of the island. Vines and moss cover nearly every inch of the trees. A few ferns grow here and there. Something even the not-so-bright Tuojiangosaurus notices is the lack of sound. Not a single bird, dinosaur, monkey or insect can be heard. What the Tuojiangosaurus doesn't notice is the reason the forest is silent is because few herbivores dare wander in here. While it chews on some ferns, it suddenly hears a twig snap, breaking the silence. It lifts its head and looks toward the direction of the sound and just then one of the Neovenator that owns this dense jungle bursts out of the bushes. The stegosaur immediately turns, putting its spiky tail towards the theropod. The Neovenator moves to the side, avoiding the thagomizer. It bites one of the blood filled plates and breaks it off. The Tuojiangosaurus turns again but the faster Neovenator has already moved away. Once again hiding in the bushes, its green skin hides it well from the Tuojiangosaurus. The Tuojiangosaurus turns in circles, trying to find the Neovenator. As it finally gets in just the right position, the Neovanator runs out and bites his side. Though in pain, the Tuojiangosaurus focuses and swings its flexible tail. The spikes hit the Neovenator in the thigh and he lets go of the Tuojiangosaurus. Limping to the side, he looks for another opening to attack from. Flipping the heavier stegosaur over would prove too daunting a task, so he goes for the easier kill in the form of a head bite. His powerful jaws would easily crush the tiny skull of a Tuojiangosaurus. The Tuojiangosaurus manages to keep its tail swinging at the theropod, though the hunter now has a plan. He lures the stegosaur towards him, then steps behind a tree. The Tuojiangosaurus swings his tail and the spikes slam into the tree. The Neovenator runs to the side and bites at the head of Tuojiangosaurus, but it can't quite reach it because the Tuojiangosaurus keeps pivoting as it tries to dislodge its thagomizer from the tree. When the carnivore finally gets its claws into the Tuojiangosaurus' shoulders, the tail is pulled out. The stegosaur bellows loudly and stabs the Neovenator in the leg again and as the carnivore jumps back the Tuojiangosaurus swings its spiked tail again, stabbing the theropod in the ribs. When the Neovenator roars and pulls itself away from the spikes, the stegosaur quickly turns and swings its spiked tail once again, stabbing the Neovenator in the jaw. When it punctures the bone the Neovenator gets stuck and has to stop and free itself. The Tuojiangosaurus' tail spikes break off and, though lacking half of its main weapon, capitalizes on the theropod's recovery time after the attack and dashes out of the woods. The Neovenator gives chase, only to be met with another blow to the head when the Tuojiangosaurus abruptly stops and swings the thagomizer. This time, the tail hits the eye of the Neovenator but the tail spikes are gone. Blind in one eye the allosaur roars and rethinks its tactic once again. The Tuojiangosaurus bellows several times and keeps swinging its tail. The Neovenator keeps the rhythm and bites the tail when it swings back. The stegosaur shakes its tail free and the Neovenator clamps its jaws shut on the Tuojiangosaurus' leg, pulling it and getting the Tuojiangosaurus to fall. The heavy herbivore falls and the Neovenator succeeds in his quest for a meal, crushing the herbivore's head before eating it as a pair of Ornithocheirus buenzeli land nearby and await their turn. WINNER: NEOVENATOR [img]http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/288/e/4/neovenator_by_elperdido1965-d30spq1.jpg[/img] Neovenator was named the "new hunter" for a reason: it was a highly evolved killer. Tuojiangosaurus would have been common prey for Neovenator had they lived at the same time and in the same place. Neovenator had the jaws, speed, size and power to disarm and defeat the Tuojiangosaurus, something a lot of animals couldn't do. NEXT UP: Styracosaurus- the 3 ton ceratopsian with an enormous spiky skull Irritator- The 2.75 ton spinosaur with a strange crest and a sail What happens when these two meet on the shores of a Sorna lake? Find out next time on DinoFights!

Nice. It was almost like a slightly smaller version of Allosaurus vs Stegosaurus. It could have gone both ways, but Neovenator was a deadly predator. Fast, agile, and pretty strong, Neovenator was a fearsome opponent. I like the extra pic right before the fight began ;)
