Welcome ladies and gentleman, to my daily DinoFight. I always appreciate my loyal readers, but for those of you who are new, every day I pit two of the most formidable dinosaurs to ever exist against one another in a fight to the death (most of the time). In honor of this being season 2's 10th fight I will include a bonus story. Medium division, round 1, fight 10: Gorgosaurus vs Siamosaurus InGen File: Gorgosaurus [img]http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/282/6/4/gorgosaurus_by_daitengu-d4cbynh.jpg[/img] Code Name: Gorgo Danger Level: Very Dangerous Height: 13 feet Length: 30 feet Weight: 3 tons Speed: 28 mph Diet: Various herbivores Weapons: Bite Description: Gorgosaurus is a medium sized tyrannosaur that lives on Isla Nublar. They were being unloaded when the 1993 incident occurred and they escaped, killing one trainer and injuring another. It eats a diet of hadrosaurs and small to medium sized ceratopsians. Gorgosaurus is a social animal, often forming small packs of the same species and different species, mainly with Albertosaurus and Daspletosaurus, though many other tyrannosaurs, including Tyrannosaurus, join in their hunts and share territories sometimes. Like most tyrannosaurids, it has a large and robust skull filled with serrated teeth that catch meat and putrefy it to create a septic saliva. Gorgosaurus can be identified by the fact that it is dark green with black stripes on its back, a pattern that disappears in hybrids with Daspletosaurus and Albertosaurus, both of which it has mated with. Females are less aggressive than males and are planned to be included in the park as well because of this. Oddly, Gorgosaurus has never been reported to have roared, hissed or even growled. They stay silent all of the time so it is unknown how they communicate. Though no testing has been done, it is widely speculated among scientists that they do indeed make noise but it is too low or high for humans to hear, or perhaps they just don't communicate around humans. They should be brought down with a heavy tranquilizer, but if they are in a group, capture will be impossible unless all are brought down. DNA samples should be collected along with 6 live specimens and the rest may either be euthanized or sent to an InGen facility for breeding and research, the latter of which is planned. The former is possible if the dinosaur is too dangerous to handle properly. InGen File: Siamosaurus [img]http://guutarada.up.d.seesaa.net/guutarada/image/dinosaur3.jpg?d=a0[/img] Code Name: Siamo Danger Level: Low unless hungry or provoked Height: 12.5 feet Length: 30 feet Weight: 2.85 tons Speed: 25 mph Diet: Fish, small dinosaurs, various aquatic animals Weapons: Claws, bite Description: Like many medium sized spinosaurs, Siamosaurus is primarily a piscivore that preys on small dinosaurs on occasion as well. It is one of InGen's smallest spinosaurs at only 30 feet, compared to the 46 foot Oxalaia and 60 foot Spinosaurus. Also like other spinosaurids, it has elongated vertebrae that support a small ridge on its back. It is mostly a yellowish white color with dark blue mottling across its entire body and males have a red face. Females are larger than males. The Siamosaurus exist in fairly small numbers along the beaches of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna where they spend most of their days eating fish or ambushing dinosaurs that come too close to the water. Siamosaurus is one of the few dinosaurs that have never escaped or killed anybody. It may see humans as prey, but if it isn't hungry or has a choice of fish, it will not attack. Because it can be easily handled, it will be included in Jurassic Park when it reopens in 2015, where it will be displayed alongside Baryonyx, Ichthyovenator and possibly Suchomimus, Oxalaia, Phobodon and Irritator if they are compatible. Like the related Suchomimus and Baryonyx, it too closely resembles a bipedal crocodile. It sheds its scutes occasionally, and in the new park they will be collected and sold in the gift shop. Their large beach-like paddock will have a waterfall and stream that flows through it into a pool, which will be stocked with fish and small crocodiles. Capture is fairly easy, as they will not attack unless hungry or provoked. FIGHT! At a remote place on the northwestern side of Isla Nublar, a shallow stream empties into the ocean. Walking along the river is a Gorgosaurus. Driven from his territory to find food, he is in a foreign place. As he reaches the shore many eyes are drawn to the outsider. Nyctosaurus, Sarcosuchus, a Paralititan and a young Bahariasaurus are among them. He simply keeps walking down the beach as they stare. Coming to a female Siamosaurus eating a juvenile iguanodon, he snorts loudly and she lifts her head. He bites the body and pulls it towards him but she digs her claws into it and pulls back. He continues to pull and is starting to overpower the Siamosaurus when suddenly she slashes his face as a warning. He lets go in shock and she goes back to eating. However, he doesn't take it well and roars loudly before ramming into her. She falls backwards into the water and he stomps in as well, biting her chest. She defends herself, slashing his face and neck very quickly, blinding one of his eyes. Blood pours out of his wounds as the equally hurt Siamosaurus gets to her feet. The Gorgosaurus rams her again, however, knocking her into a flock of Pterodaustro that scatter everywhere, and the Gorgosaurus runs through them. As he runs the water becomes too deep and he is forced to swim. The Siamosaurus takes advantage, diving and biting his leg. She pulls him down and lets go, only to bite his neck and swim downwards with him. The Gorgosaurus shakes around desperately, running out of air. After breaking some of her teeth out he squirms free and swims to the surface. She, able to hold her breath far longer, swims up under him and bites his neck, jumps on his back and digs in with her claws, pushing him underwater. He is drowning and desperately needs to break away in the next few seconds. Luckily he does and bites her tail. He swims up and pulls back, getting her into shallow water. She stands up and nimbly dodges his attacks. He runs at her when she gets about 20 feet away and she fails to move. He catches her with a bite to the back as the Paralititan starts moving towards them. The Gorgosaurus is forced to release the Siamosaurus to avoid being stepped on. Not seeing them, the giant is startled when they bump into his leg. When the Siamosaurus looks up to roar, the Gorgosaurus bites her lower neck and she cries out in pain. The Siamosaurus knows that she has to get him off now or she will suffer death. She rakes her claws from his neck to his nose and causes a very deep wound. The Gorgosaurus lets go and shakes his now blood covered head. The Siamosaurus capitalizes with a swipe to the face followed by a bite to the neck. She yanks him to the side and he coughs a small roaring sound before pulling himself out of her jaws. She drops to all fours before swerving to the side and pushing him over with her powerful arms. As soon as he hits the ground she starts slicing him with her enormous claws but she gets kicked in the stomach. His claws cut her deep but she isn't out yet. The Gorgosaurus is just getting up when she runs towards him with a low hissing sound but he pivots and she passes him. As soon as she turns around the Gorgosaurus headbutts her and she stumbles back. He bites her lower back and throws her to the ground, holding on to her as she hisses and snaps her jaws. His teeth puncture her scutes but she manages to break away. She kicks the tyrannosaur in the mouth and a crack sounds out from his now fractured skull. She stands quickly before slashing his face deeply. His bone is cut deep as well and he utters a very rare roar and bites her face, crushing her snout. She slashes his face more, leaving it a bloody and ugly mess as she narrowly dodges his attacks, leading him towards the water. When they step in the wet sand he catches on to her plan but by then she has already locked her jaws on his neck and wrapped her arms around him. She puts all of her weight on him and he stumbles into the water with her. The Siamosaurus readjusts her grip on him and starts dragging him deeper and deeper into the water. She sees clearly underwater while he kicks blindly. The Siamosaurus starts rolling with her adversary as blood clouds the water and he kicks at her. His claws slice her and he breaks her teeth but she pulls him down with her huge claws as he tries to swim back up. The Gorgosaurus feels as if his lungs will burst if he doesn't get air now and he tries once more for an escape. He bites the Siamosaurus' arm and when she pulls it out of his mouth he starts kicking away from her but she catches him again. He kicks her in the chest and manages to lift his nose above water, taking a deep breath. Suddenly he is pulled deep underwater by a bone crushing force. The Siamosaurus sees the animal that took the Gorgosaurus: a Sarcosuchus. It starts rolling with him as another bites onto him. Suddenly a third emerges and swims towards the Siamosaurus. She panics and swims away but she can't match the speed of the crocodile. She touches land before the croc finally crushes down on her shin. Suddenly another Sarcosuchus bites it. When it lets go the Siamosaurus crawls away and lays in the sand as the SuperCrocs fight. She watches the death of the Gorgosaurus, who kicks weakly several times before his heart gives one final thud. EPILOGUE/10th EDITION STORY The Siamosaurus drags the remnants of his waterlogged carcass to land a few hours later. She drops to the ground, exhausted, and starts gnawing on his scaly skin. Her wounds sting from the Gorgosaurus' septic bite but her strong immune system should help her take care of it. The spinosaur starts to doze off and she thinks of where she would like to find territory in the morning that she could heal in and catch easy prey. Suddenly an awful yet familiar smell hits her nose. Scavengers. The abelisaurs that approach on the horizon are identifiable by their smell of rotting flesh and their bright red heads alone. The Kryptops approach with their ugly mashed faces chattering away, letting out exited yips to one another when the four see that the Siamosaurus is in no condition to fight back. They roar and saliva drips from their permanently grinning mouths. They fan out around her and start with their high pitched yips and barks, a sound of horror to any animal that is dying or wounded. The Siamosaurus gets to her feet with shaky legs and puts her foot on her kill, hissing and snapping her broken jaws in warning. The four are not worried and they appear to be laughing with their twisted smiles and hyena-like laughs. Their bacteria filled saliva will cause likely fatal horrific diseases of all kinds if they even get in one bite through her thick scales with their small teeth. The Siamosaurus turns and swipes at one that got uncomfortably close but it jumps back. Another comes behind her but she looks just in time and her bony tail flicks its face, enraging it but also effectively driving it back. The four repeat the cycle until she starts to get tired. She can see that she is outnumbered and tries to surrender the meal to them but they have gotten greedy now. They want her as well. Their sharp smell stings her nose as they get closer and closer to her. She backs herself against a rocky wall. She thinks of retreating to the water but she can't swim wounded as the crocodiles would attack get for sure. The Siamosaurus can't outrun them on her best day, let alone tired and hurt. She prepares to accept death, but not without a fight. The now adrenaline filled Siamosaurus rushes towards the biggest male and slams her razor sharp claws into his hideous face. He stumbles back as she smacks another with her tail. The female of the group lunges at her with jaws open but the Siamosaurus dodges her and smacks her neck with her powerful arm, tearing her spinal cord in half with her curved claws while also shattering her vertebrae. The large male calls to the other two and they regroup, now preparing to attack again. Just as the large male jumps at the helpless Siamosaurus a giant hand smacks him out of the air and he crashes into a tree. The towering mysterious monster picks up another and tosses it away. The third whimpers and backs down but the giant is unrelenting, simply pinning it down with his foot and crushing it. The Siamosaurus looks up at the giant that saved her life and is shocked to see it is the rare but dominant predator of the beaches, Spinosaurus. She isn't sure why he bothered but she suspects it was more out of a hatred for the overpopulated Kryptops than anything. The sun is now down and the Spinosaurus heads to his cave. The Siamosaurus follows him as he ducks to enter it through the small opening and lies down. She looks around the huge cavern. The Spinosaurus turns and is face to face with her. He sees her but doesn't care. He pushes the mostly devoured body of a Mourasuchus towards her, flaying it open to make it easier on her broken jaws. She accepts it happily as the two newfound friends lie down for the night. WINNER: DRAW [img]http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/23700000/Sarcosuchus-dinosaurs-23743587-800-410.jpg[/img] You could argue that Siamosaurus won this one, but in reality, the Sarcosuchus decided the outcome. Siamosaurus survived and that's it. What really helped the Siamosaurus survive was not its claws, nor its armor, but the randomly selected terrain. A watery area is a spinosaur's ideal habitat and there was not a very good chance the Gorgosaurus could escape the crocodiles once they attacked. It couldn't see well underwater, nor could it swim with great skill. NEXT UP: Neovenator- The allosaurian hunter from the cretaceous Tuojiangosaurus- The spiky jurassic stegosaur When these two clash in Neovenator's dense forest hunting grounds, who wins? Questions? Comments? Predictions? Suggestions? Let me know! P.S. Did you like the epilogue story? If so, what did you like about it? If not, what didn't you like about it?

Awesome, as always. It's sad that the Gorgosaurus died but even sadder that it drowned and was torn apart by crocodiles. However, I see this as a very plausible scenario.

And I loved the story/epilogue at the end. Very fitting for a 10th edition special and even better as a prelude to season 3!

Nice. Very great epilogue and even better fight. It was close, but in the end the animal the habitat favored was the one that one.

Loved the story, and the epilogue was great. I really didn't expect Siamosaurus to live, is he going on to the next round?

Thanks guys. I tried to let the Gorgosaurus live but it wouldn't really fit the epilogue.

Yeah, haha. I can't wait for the Daspletosaurus vs Tarascosaurus fight. That's the one I'm looking forward to the most ;)

Well, I guess. But I'm still waiting for Yangchuanosaurus to kick some but. He is the biggest contestant here. And maybe a small pack of him could fight a Sarcosuchus.

Let's not get into size shall we? Hard for everyone to agree on that matter ;)

I still am wondering who will go on. I would think Siamosaurus, seeing that he is still alive and the Gorgosaurus is dead.

I'm not decided yet. I would say Siamosaurus, but technically it didn't win. It didn't get the kill

Well neither did the Megalosaurus in one of your fights, it just drove the Cryolophosaurus away. I feel like I'm stalking you when I can recite those things off the top of my head.

Hi

MemberCompsognathusAug-05-2013 10:07 AM
I thought it was Yutyrannus that scared Megalosaurus away? I think Becklespinax killed Cryolophosaurus, but it is funny to just have you recite that haha And in any case, it still defeated its opponent in some way. Siamosaurus just kind of was lucky Sarcosuchus didn't get it first. It kind of played a role in Gorgosaurus' death but it was a very minor role.

Right, I guess my memory isn't that good. I do remember 30 foot tall mushroom. And it wasn't a minor roll. The final kill was by the Sarcosuchus, but the Siamosaurus nearly drowned it many times, and caused a lot of injuries.

Yay, go spinosaur. I'd give it another round to live.

Maybe it(spinosaur) fights the Daspletosaurus, who beats the Tarascosaurus, thinks it'll be just like the Gorgosaurus, and then get's it's butt kicked because Das is far more robust than Gorgo, haha Just a thought ;)

You know, I really think Yangchuanosaurus and Daspletosaurus will go to the finals. That would be an interesting fight.

Hi

It would be a good fight. In my opinion, Daspletosaurus is just as big as Yangchuanosaurus, maybe bigger. Either way, it's more robust and stronger. Probably smarter too. But Yang is faster and has longer arms and claws. So it would be close. We can guess all we want, but in the end, it's DinoFights decision.

And don't forget longer, at least by what I say, and how DinoFights showed him. Really, its the dinosaur's decision. There the ones fighting.

Nice fight. So if Gorgosaurus won, would a Rex have saved him? Or would Spinosaurus have torn him to pieces?

Jack of all trades. Master of none

MemberCompsognathusAug-06-2013 12:38 AM
Maybe Spino would have saved him, maybe the Kryptops would have got him, maybe a T. rex would have saved him. Maybe he would have defeated the Kryptops and went on his way. Maybe I'll do an alternate ending and see which one people like better and we can put the winner to a vote.
