MemberOvomorphMar-10-2013 1:28 PMThe natural satellites of planets in our solar system (and there are very many of them) are typically named after characters from Greek or Roman mythology, a notable exception being the planet Uranus, whose moons are mostly named after Shakespearean characters.
I'd like to think that the writers knew something about Greek mythology, rather than having stumbled across the name of one moon in many – that just happens to be named after a deity sharing similar intentions to those of Peter Weyland.

MemberOvomorphMar-10-2013 4:24 PMThose astronomers didnt need to name it a Greek name they all should have Sumerian names NOT Greek. They were the last ones to even know about our Solar System, and all they knew were 7 planets: Earth, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Neptune instead of 9 like what we and the Sumerians know of like Pluto and Uranus. Plus the controversial 10th planet that I and Sitchin agree on. This is all just my opinion though. :)
