I find this in no way boring. Im a long time fan who grew up no the Alien franchise so the excitement probably wouldnt be the same for someone who grew up later or wasnt a fan at all. With that said, when you think about how much we've deconstructed the trailers and all the additional footage and pics, its pretty clear we still know very little about the movie. Which I think is testament to the trailer not giving away nearly as much as you assume.

I for one am more stoked every time we find a interesting shot, expand on plot theories and see possible spoilers. Its not like we did not know there was going to be mutations, aliens or horrors in this movie...that is what is expected. With all our secret trailer shots and slowdowns etc people seem to forget this whole thing called "dialogue" that is also in movies. I mean who doesn't shake their gifts a bit to try to get a idea of whats in the box??? And if its more Giger designs ....we know its gonna be a dick in the box. *lol* Stay stoked...travel 40 miles if you have to to see it in Imax.. and just enjoy the ride.

By contrast, take a look at the trailer for the original "Alien" which is pretty aggressive by todays standards. There's a lot of pursuit, people reacting violently, yet all the plot twists and turns that provide momentum are not detectable. There remains a vast amount to be revealed- Remember that Ridley Scott was a top commercial director back in the last century and he knows what sells.

No-one's holding a gun to your head forcing you to watch the trailers..what a stupid post???

It's not about how much they give away. When it comes to RS, it's about how much we don't know. This movie covers a lot so I believe these freebies lead us no where but in the wrong direction. For example, I don't believe Mr. Clean Blu is the SJ. Why just give that away. And if so, there is something so much more we have in store. Then again, maybe Fox is pulling all the strings...and F%#% things up. They are the reason why movies suck today. Just a CGI- Teenie Bopper revenue making-think they know what people want- movie manufacturing machine, they are. This movie hopefully will bring us back to the quality movies some of us grew up with, along with a cast of well respected actors.

It's Ridley Scott and Fox here. I'm sure they are doing these trailers frame by frame to make sure it teases but still leaves reason to go to the move. I mean look at the shot of the "entity" that is on fire slamming that dude into a rover. A fraction of a second before or after and we would know exactly who or what it is but by the cut of the trailer we have tons of speculation. That's just an example. There's a lot to see yet!!!

Secondly, I don't think they are giving too much away. Not a great deal has been giving away. Our assumption of what we think we know are giving false ideas away. If RS is lurking, he's Lhao. I have been a member here since there was only a couple hundred members. I have contributed to the site with ideas in the beginning but now I more or less troll. I have been fallowing this since it was first rumored until being confirmed starting middle of last year. Some here jumped on or found out later. I do believe it's more than Ridley would have liked to give away. I believe this is partly the Fox marketing machine.

I agree with you RHunter if people aren't hyped about this film what the hell are they doing on a site like this? I have also been following Prometheus since it was first conceived and because of that I trawl the internet for news, gossip, stills, interviews and of course trailers. I have read the breakdowns on the movie trailer because I choose to, I am quite prepared for spoilers because I want to discover more about the film. If you don't want the film 'spoilt' then only watch the trailer once (your brain won't process it properly). I would say that this is one of the best edited trailers I have ever seen with the music fitting perfectly, I love the adventure style music at the beginning and the deafening silence when they discover it's not gunna be like Disneyland. They have obviously spent hours to perfect the images THEY want you to see and with the viral campaign to boot they WANT you to be thinking about it.

Another point to be made is that the novelization has not been released yet. Usually, most novelizations are released within a couple of months of the film's release. If that had happened in the case of this film, then it would spoil the fans' expectations(or raise them). As RHunter said about Ridley lurking, he's lhao, probably thinking to himself, "Those bloody fans are not even close to what I have in store for them!"

This film is going to be a beauty... no doubt about it. Worth every penny spent, and I plan on seeing Prometheus a ton!

Almost everything we have seen is something we are familiar with from science fiction in general, from Alien, or from ancient alien theory. IMO, that means a) this movie isn't going to contain any answers to questions from Alien (it's not a prequel, as Ridley has stated many times) and b) there are going to be shocking plot twists that most people probably don't see coming. I say most people, because I think we have surely hit on some of those elements in here. I think we are given the familiar elements from Alien in the preview in part to mislead us about where the story is going.

I ask you guys, have you ever seen a BETTER trailer for any film in YOUR LIFE? For me, that trailer, represents EVERYTHING that going into a Movie Theater to begin with is ALL ABOUT !!!

So far they have gave away next to nothing. The outline of a plot. We are going to meet aliens across the universe and they turn out to be not what we expected.... That is it. No real spoilers have leaked. I wouldn't call any of this stuff spoilers. Some due, but I think they want everything in life to constantly be new and exciting and spend a lot of time overly disappointed because they set there expectations too high.

What I love is that Batman fans are f***ed because they've had their money shot, ours, as Alien fans is yet to come!!!! The trailer alone is awe inspiring and probably the most ambitious film campaign (with the virals et al) there has ever been...... I really hope that Ripley finally gets her tits out in this film is all!
