MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 6:19 PMi know this is not really the web site to ask this on, but i am asking everywhere i can, i did some sci fi art work and its really cool, so cool infact that it is being held back by my lack of artistic skill, and i know a lot of you do fan art, so could someone re-draw it for me???

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 6:47 PMZim, I bet it is good the way it is. Maybe take a break from it and give it another go sometime fresh. However if you are certain you want someone to mess with your art I think it might be interesting to just go ahead and post it here and start an open competition.

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 6:54 PMits not that i am frustrated with it, i am perfectly happy with what i did with it, but i would like a more 3 dimensional pic that has more detail, just for reference (i am planning on using this in a movie if i ever get the chance) but yeah, i will post it and see what anyone comes up with :)

I'm a little busy right now on other projects so I would only do it for points, maybe about 600 (that's only equal to like less than 10 bucks I think), if that sounds reasonable. I don't usually draw space ships so it might turn out a little crummy but I could give it a shot.

If I am on the right track let me know and when finished I will make you an Wavefront obj file that you can put in any 3d app you want and get whatever angle you want.

Since the Prometheus facebook app stood me up I went ahead and started adding some detail to Zim's 3D model.
Here is a more refined WIP, still needs work mostly on the front end though:

i spent a decent amount of coin on a bundle pack of Autodesk Maya8
a few years back, thought i could teach myself the program the way
i did with the Adobe apps i now know
but NOPE, Maya was far too complex a program to self teach,
the program is just gathering dust in my room (sucks)
what did you use to build that cool looking model?
even better looking now that you added some details...

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 10:56 PMHaha I used Maya it is my favorite. Blender can do it too but I wouldn't recommend it. For me it would take 100 x longer because their conventions feel backward to me. Get a 3D mouse like the spacenavigator, bush that Maya off and go through a few of the tutorials it will eventually click. The real trick is to get good at shortcuts and tricks so it doesn't take all day to make something.
