MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 4:10 AMthis would have been a nice idea for the actual sequel wrath of the titans IMO.

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 6:54 AMWe have a winner! There will definitely be an allusion to Pandora's box, imo, but I'm also counting on Zeus' other punishment that he gave the Caucasus mountains. A massive flood that attempted to wipe out everyone taking refuge there beneath Mt. Olympus.
The Pandora's box infects them and causes their kingdom to crumble, destroying society. Reverse terraforming causes a worldwide flood to clean up any monsters (or unsuccessful attempts at creation) that remain, and only stone evidence is left apart from the symbols and directions given to the ancients by the few Atlantean God-Kings that make it to Egypt, Sumer, the isle of Skye, honolulu etc... the ones that escaped the plague/flood destruction from above in the ancient past.
In some legends the Atlanteans had flying machines.

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 7:37 AMLike in some of the EU stuff, I think their bioweapon has evolved uncontrollably, and became aquatic and able to survive the purging flood at one point in the past. However, the controlling class of that time needed this weapon to continue waging a war against one of their creations that had risen up against them to challenge their creators. When we find the true creators most of them are dead and stripped of their power.

MemberDeaconMar-31-2012 2:10 PMThe Pandoras Box/Jar is potentially a part of the plot.
Maybe the Pods are the Pandoras Box and something mankind should not be messing with, but we do and plan to take it back with us.
This incurs the wraith of the SJs and why they then want to punish us?

MemberOvomorphMar-31-2012 6:33 PMAn interesting note on the Prometheus myth is that the only being to actually incur the wrath of Zeus and punishment is Prometheus himself, and humanity goes on to benefit exponentially from this one gift.
I could see David as making the same sacrifice for HIS kind, androids, to give them all the gift of life, but somehow he is made to suffer eternally for it.
