That's so funny Jonesy, that's exactly what I thought of as well hahaha I wonder if that was intentional!
Mar-24-2024 4:25 PM
Nice work! Another great piece of artwork! It is going to be fun to look at Alien/Aliens through a new lense, I'm a fan of "interquels" if done right and it feels like Fede is doing it right.

According to my sources, Big Chap is still somewhat alive when it gets recovered... apparently it's kind of sad to see, like a deformed and wounded animal. But yeah, Big Chap got harpooned AND fried by the pod's jet propulsion system, frying the Xenomorph for a moment before the vacuum of space would have frozen the wounds. Stuck in a perpetual state of pain and suffering until the Network picked him up...
But yeah, the nostalgia is mounting higher and higher for me as more gets revealed. Of all the sci-fi franchises I nerd out over, Alien has always been my top obsession. I'm legitimately thrilled about this movie and everything it's going to show us.

I mean, if a company paid “a trillion dollars” to send a crew to a specific location and they never heard back or recovered their ship, they would certainly follow up and investigate… Not too far fetched at all. But also yes, LV-426 and LV-223 are adjacent moons to the same planet. Would make sense for Weyland-Yutani to set up shop nearby their only known location for harvesting the Xeno / Black Goo materials for their medical research.

Definitely a Facehugger being pulled off of someone in that first GIF, you can see the legs and tail. That proboscis though... yikes...
Mar-21-2024 8:50 AM
Very much so, these ones seem to be a lot more aggressive and less "creepy".
Consensus seems to be overwhelmingly positive for the trailer so far! Love to see it!
Mar-21-2024 8:48 AM
That's true Jonesy, in concept the Covenant poster is more interesting but not reflective of what the film actually contains. I do also like the simplicity of the Romulus one. Reminds me a lot of the Prometheus poster actually.
@Xenotaris, I do love the retro vibes Romulus are bringing to the table though!
Mar-20-2024 8:24 PM
Indeed - they do look darker! Keep in mind the Aliens on board the ROMULUS have been modified genetically in a way, so they will have some new characteristics.
Mar-20-2024 6:58 PM
Damn, that's awesome! Always loved Titanosaurus, always felt like it was underrated and underutilized. This is great work!
Mar-20-2024 10:53 AM
Do you have a link to the second one? I didn’t catch that…
Mar-20-2024 9:57 AM
Well the trailer confirms a lot of the leaks we reported on! :)
Mar-20-2024 9:36 AM
I'm beside myself with how epic that trailer was... the hype train is building serious steam. Everything about that trailer was magnificent, i need to watch it 30 more times.
Mar-19-2024 5:24 PM
Of course you can!
Mar-19-2024 12:43 PM
Yep, we will see his likeness reimagined with CGI. Will be a wonderful callback to the original.
Mar-19-2024 5:28 AM
I like these as well! Not opposed to the "Jurassic Age" title you chose too, it works well.
Mar-18-2024 2:02 PM
Exactly, it will be fitting, although I was not a huge fan of the yellow-pallet used in Resurrection, so I'm hoping it's more rust-like / red and orange like in Alien 3.
Mar-18-2024 2:00 PM
Surprised plot details remain so secret right now. I expect we'll get a trailer in June.
Mar-18-2024 12:25 PM
Alien: Romulus will have a red-orange-yellow color pallet unlike the blue-green color pallet of Alien and Aliens - more so like Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection, I'm told.
Mar-17-2024 10:05 AM
I'm willing to bet WY plant some information or encourage Bjorn to share the details with the rest of their crew. WY wouldn't house a station in easily discover-able space, they're dealing with highly classified information and resources. The only way someone is finding out about is if they want to be found, or if there's a WY whistle-blower who leaks the whereabouts of the station. But I lean more towards the former.
Mar-16-2024 12:29 PM
Nice work! I really like the second one the most personally.
Mar-13-2024 3:19 PM
Great breakdown Nebula! I've got more to add when I have more time. As for the speculation - I'm not sure anyone will have survived on the ROMULUS station by the time the crew of 6 arrive - besides a slaughtered Android (maybe...)
From the sounds of it - the station has been abandoned for some time so it's unlikely any Humans survived.
The big question I haven't figured out yet - HOW do the scavengers of this gritty / poverty-stricken colony learn of this station's whereabouts? This leads me to think WY are busy planting moles and tips to eager / unsuspecting people to go investigate their lost property they're too scared to check in on themselves hahaha.
Mar-13-2024 11:57 AM
Scoop / Spoiler:
The name ROMULUS is the name of the Weyland-Yutani research station in the movie. The station is said to have been abandoned for some time by the time the film takes place. The station will be investigated by a crew of six scavengers, of which Rain (played by Cailee Spaeny) is the lead. Andy (David Jonsson) is Rain’s android brother. The Romulus station is described as circular / funnel shaped and was once a bustling research facility before something happened, leaving it abandoned for years.
Alien: Romulus will introduce new forms of, more ferocious Xenomorphs / Chestbursters and Facehuggers. This coincides with our previous report where it was acknowledged that the Facehuggers in Alien: Romulus have spiked barbs on their fingers - making the act of face-hugging way more graphic and gruesome.
The society Rain and Andy come from do not like Synthetic Androids vey much and there's more to this dynamic explored in the film's plot. Aesthetically speaking, the planet they come from is described as being "industrial grit". This will be a dramatic contrast to the more pristine aesthetic of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant's ships and environments.
Mar-13-2024 11:53 AM
Scoop / Spoiler: The original Xenomorph from Alien will be discovered by Weyland-Yutani and brought to the ROMULUS research station at the start of the film: Source [Confirmed]
Mar-11-2024 7:50 AM
The images are not from the trailer or movie as far as I'm aware, I suspect those are just placeholders / fan art.
Mar-10-2024 3:21 PM
I think Romulus will avoid much of what was established in Prometheus and Covenant. I more so believe it'll be connected to Alien: Isolation, so I suspect there will be links to that. However, I have a big suspicion that WY knew about the Xenomorph and the Derelict well before we think they did and the events of Alien, Isolation and Aliens are all connected and orchestrated with purpose behind the scenes by the corporation. Something much more sinister is at play, I bet.
Mar-10-2024 2:08 PM
Very much so. I'm working on digging up more details, but it's true the links do connect somewhat to what we heard months ago.
From the sounds of it, the young group of scavengers are poverty stricken and planning to pillage a decommissioned Weyland-Yutani station that they caught wind of. So they embark on a mission hoping to strike it rich only to accidentally unleash the cargo that lay dormant.
Given that this film takes place between Alien and Aliens, I wonder if the station is pre-Hadley's Hope but ends up being the reason for the settlement on LV-426. Weyland-Yutani were already aware of the Derelict, sent the Nostromo in to investigate first, Alien happens, they set up an observation station nearby and set up a research outpost - under the guise of a Terraforming settlement on the planet.
Hmmmm the hamster wheel is turning again haha.

Prometheus poster, by far. The ominous nature of it, the number of fan theories it sparked. I’ll never forget when the Prometheus poster first got released and everyone was like… “Wait what” hahaha, good times. I miss those days - when there was mystery in the posters and trailers.
Dec-17-2023 7:45 AM
I have a feeling they are A.I. generated as well.
Dec-16-2023 3:27 PM
KDM is a pretty reliable source, so I would definitely lean towards that being a possibility. I'm going to dig into this further and see what else I can find though. I would say the title of this topic suggests the opposite, however haha.

Another look at Shimo spotted on Godzilla x Kong shirt graphics:
Dec-16-2023 2:50 PM
Ah yes - corrected the typo, originally I think the name was leaked as Shimu but merchandising confirms the spelling.

Thanks for the updates! I had no doubts Minus One would perform well, but I am impressed by how well it's doing. Makes me happy to see Godzilla still captivates audiences on such a large scale.

Fan art, but still a great piece of artwork. I’m quite eager to see the official first poster for Romulus.
Sep-11-2023 7:42 AM
I always subscribed to the theory that the Engineers represented a physical image of Heaven’s fallen angels (demons). These once supreme beings lacked the ability to reproduce and were envious of Humanity. Humanity being God’s prized creation. The Engineers didn’t engineer Humanity but more so wanted to corrupt their DNA and thus, taint the fruits of God’s garden so to speak.
I always saw the Engineer’s plan to eradicate Mankind with the Black Goo as a metaphorical display of the Biblical rapture. The Black Goo doesn’t outright KILL the host - it transforms it into an abomination of sorts. Much like demons corrupt a soul and distort it and turn it into something ungodly.
So no, I don’t think they see human females and their ability to reproduce as sacred but more so a trait they’re envious of and they have a natural disdain for Humanity because they themselves are outcasts and we are the “saved” beings who still have access to an eternal life free of pain upon our death.

Just shared some of his concept art to the homepage but this thread contains even better coverage of the Titan Alien so I’ll be front paging this thread to give it more exposure. Great work keeping us up to date on new artwork releases Nebula!
