You may know him as the author of the 400+ million selling Goosebumps series and as the author of the 80+ million selling Fear Street series, but R. L. Stine has now made his first foray into the world of comic books with a new five issue mini-series focusing on Marvel's infamous swamp monster, Man-Thing.
German Peralta will provide the artwork for Stine's series, which finds the former scientist-turned-swamp monster finally recovers his ability to speak and sets out the leave the swamp and start a new life as a Hollywood celebrity. But because this is the Marvel Universe, thing's don't go according to plan, and soon Man-Thing finds himself having to stop an ancient danger that threatens all of humanity.
Man-Thing first appeared in Savage Tales #1 back in 1971, before becoming a staple of the Marvel Universe and showing up in other series including Marvel Team-Up, The Defenders, The Punisher, X-Men and Spider-Man. He was also given his own R-rated live-action film back in 2005 and appeared in last year's animated feature Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell.
You can enjoy some of the covers for R. L. Stine's Man-Thing series below. The first two issues have already been released, so be sure to order them over on ComiXology.
