MemberTitanosaurusJul-26-2014 3:32 PMHOLY HEDORAH ****! Three of the biggest monsters in the franchise are going to be in the sequel. Rodan, one of the fastest monsters alive. Mothra, second most well-known monster in the world after Godzilla (and probably King Kong). King Ghidorah, The King of Terror, Godzilla's arch-enemy and oldest enemy (Anguirus, Rodan and Mothra don't count since they become his allies. And Kong is more of a rival than an enemy.) Godzilla was 108 meters tall in the new movie. King Ghidorah is usually 50 meters taller that Godzilla. Showa era, Godzilla=50 meters tall, Ghidorah=100 meters tall. Heisei era, Godzilla=100 meters tall, Ghidorah=150 meters tall. If this remains true, than King Ghidorah may be 158 meters tall in Godzilla 2! **** Just Got Real! This is a remake of Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster. Or, just a teaser to get us pumped. There may be more Monsters to come. Some of the most famous and most powerful monsters have returned and conflict is unavoidable. LET. THEM. FIGHT.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 3:47 PMTOO much awesome. I don't even know what to say. Legendary is also doing a King Kong prequel so.... I'll just leave it at that.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 4:11 PMNow the biggest question on my mind...will Legendary's Ghidorah come from space? If so that opens the door for A LOT of potential! (I just really want to see Gigan on the big screen done right. No buzzsaws please.)

MemberBaragonJul-27-2014 2:35 PMBefore we get excited... how on God's green earth are they gonna explain Mothra and keep it "realistic'? Ghidorah mabey.. Rodan.. no doubt. But Mothra??? I concider myself to be a huge fan.. and I was born when Godzilla was just gaining momentum in the late 60's. I hoped that I had seen the last of the giant insects. Its bad enough that the MUTOs looked like giant bugs. I was hoping for something a little meatier.. say like.. oh.. Anguirus or for that matter Titanosaurus.. and of course Rodan.. but COME ON.. Mothra?!?!?!? yikes!whats next.. fairies.. infant island.. cosmos..I just don't feel confident about the direction that this G universe is going.. BUT I guess the BIG clue would have to be.. Project MONARCH.. as in butterfly. Mabey Mothra was the first Kaiju discovered.. or not.. why else would they use the term Monarch... hmmmm

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-27-2014 5:09 PM^ Mothra is a spiritual being, guardian of the planet Earth. If this film includes "The Cosmos", then that will be the reasoning for the creature to be in the movie. I'm curious to learn why are Godzilla and Mothra fighting? Basically in Godzilla was "the good mosnter", so why would he be fighting the other "good monster" Mothra?

MemberBaragonJul-27-2014 6:59 PMStill... I think insects like Mothra.. should not be in this G universe. for that matter.. a praying mantis..a spider.. or a ****roach (megalon)It may have worked in the old days when campy films were all the rage.. but these days..no. The MUTOs were risky business and they got a tepid response from a lot of fans. They were somewhat cool.. but lacked in originality.. IMO.. As for good monster - bad monster.. that too harkens back the campy film era. In this new G universe.. its all about nature vs nature. Since Godzilla is now officially an alpha predator.. he is niether a good guy or a bad guy.. he is who he is. Its that simple. Moths as an insect are not known for being predatory what so ever. So the Mothra introduction into this universe.. should be brief. The francise is about Godzilla.. and if there are foes that he will face.. they will be territorial and have a predatory nature about them.Rodan and Anguirus fit that catagory. Ghidorah was alien in nature to earth.. and he is a genuine threat to all life.. so introducing him as a hostile enemy towards Godzilla would work in this G universe. I personally feel that mothra has no place in it.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-28-2014 3:22 AM^ Godzilla did become "the good guy" in the Legendary Godzilla film. SPOILERS
Godzilla intentionally got in the way of those missles fired at the bridge, so they didn't hit the humans stranded there. Godzilla was headed towards the ships, but goes under them to avoid hitting them. When Godzilla rose up after defeated both Mutos, he walked away (without destroying all the people who garthered around him). Looking at the final ending seen reminded me of Rocky (I totally had Eye of the Tiger playing in my head looking at that scene.) lol
MemberBaragonJul-28-2014 1:21 PMWhy is it that i have to be the one who sleeps through such great news?
This is going to be insane on how they design these magnificent kaiju's. :)

MemberBaragonJul-28-2014 2:53 PMScarfo.. I have to disagree with what you said.. first.. Godzilla just happened to be rising out of the water by the bridge because its not as deep there.. so he would not be able to swim in that area.. kinda like a 6 foot tall man trying to swim in a 3 foot deep wading pool. second... He was not there in the city to attack humans..he was there to fight MUTOs from his era. he is a prehistoric (MASSIVE) dinosaur.. so humans to him would be like insects are to us.. and thus he would pay no mind to them just as we pay no mind to ants in the grass. We know they are there.. but we don't go out of our way to save them from us stepping on them. This Godzilla is a mammal and has animalistic instincts.. He is not the good guy.. he is just a large beast. as for him avoiding the ships in the bay.. you would not want to swim into a large rock head first.. let alone the bow of a large ship. This movie is all about prehistoric nature coming into a modern nature setup.. and seeing how the two interact with each other. ie.. mankinds world vs the world Godzilla and creatures like him developed in.. prehistoric. I respect your point of view.. but this is a film made for a modern day audience.. and not the 70's era kaiju fan base.. where its good vs evil. but I can see why some would get that impression about this movie.. but its not how its being portrayed.

jsotmower Gigan is still one of my favorite monsters. I would love to see him included! If they are truly building a modernized, American universe based off the original series, hopefully it won't stop with a trilogy. I'm usually against more than that, but with Godzilla, there really are endless possibilities. They could branch off into singular monster stories, such as what the original Rodan or Mothra films were. I think an updated version of The Mysterians, which is a classic and one of my favorites, would be epic!

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-29-2014 3:32 PMIt might is well be another remake of the 1964's film "Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster".
RR44
MemberBaragonJul-29-2014 5:57 PM@Imperial96.. I thought that too. But would'nt it be cool to see Mothra get eaten by Rodan? after all.. birds eat moths by nature. but I digress.

MemberBaragonJul-30-2014 2:01 PMI don't think it will be classified as a remake of ghidorah, everyone said the same thing about godzilla 2014 that it was a remake of the 1954 film when we all know better, it was a reboot, and so will be godzilla 2 and godzilla 3. :)
