The now certain possibility of a Venom movie and the inevitable expansion of the Spider-Man Cinematic Universe begs the question of whether the Venom movie will be a one off or the potential start of a new franchise featuring evryones favorite symbiote. Of course a series of Venom movies would be ideal, and the side-story has been delved into in enough detail in the comics to flesh out a trilogy of movies at the very least. The obvious way to do a Venom trilogy would be to feature the other symbiotes that have featured in the comics, and none is more well known Carnage.
When recently asked by IGN about whether Carnage or his human host Cletus Kasady (pictured above) would make an appearance in the planned Venom Movie both Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach were suprisingly vague with their responses...
Avi Arad: "What a great idea."
Matt Tolmach: "Exactly. The idea of Venom and Carnage… taking it into consideration. Watch out for this Venom movie. We are crazy excited."
WHO IS CARNAGE?
After the events of the Secret War storyline Peter Parker returned to Earth with a cool new black costume, which would appear at will an generate its own webbing. At first Parker viewed the mysterious suit as a blessing, but when it started to negatively affect his attitude, behavior and morals Parker realised the suit was an escapee Symbiote from the Secret Wars. Parker was able to free himself of the Symbiote, which sought refuge with a new nearby host, Eddie Brock.
Brock and the Symbiotes mutual bond gave each the knowledge and benefits of co-existence and became known as Venom. Venom have memories of Parkers instigated a campaign of terror against the webslinger before being caught and sent to the Ravencroft Institute, where he was imprisoned next to the infamous and sadistic serial killer Cletuc Kasady. At lights out Brock and Cassidy slept, but unbeknown to either of them the Venom Symbiote, having reached sexual maturity, deposited an egg onto Kasady, but the egg dropped onto an open wound and mixed directly with Kasady's blood - giving rise to Carnage!
