Star Wars Episode 8 will still feature scenes involving Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa. Prior to her extremely unfortunate death, Fisher had already completed filming her scenes for the next episodic Stars Wars entry, the currently untitled Stars Wars Episode VIII.
The fate of her character in Star Wars remains a mystery, however. As far as we know, reshoots for Episode 8 to reflect the current circumstances are extremely unlikely which means it will be up to Episode 9 to determine what becomes of our beloved Leia. Will she be re-cast, given an end off-screen or rendered through CGI? Obviously, it's too soon to tell. But as we learn more we'll be sure to keep you posted.
