Intriguing track names. They provide some clues to the film, but are vague enough in most cases to keep you guessing. A Cabin on the Lake? Lonely Perfection?

Interesting.

"Cabin on the Lake"  Now it is becoming clear that our discussion regarding the cabin shot in the new trailer has some truth

So basically the facehugger attack comes near the end of the movie, or is that another facehugger attack?

MemberChestbursterApr-06-2017 7:27 AM

Hm.. it seems to be missing two tracks ;) but very interesting! As Raido pointed out, the track titles don't reveal too much either, which is a good thing considering the analytic expertise here in this forum.

I remember the track listing for Prometheus that was posted on the prometheus forum back in early 2012 I believe, and we discussed title names such as the "Hammerpede" lol.

-

"Bring It To My Turf"...Could it perhaps refer to the Covenant or W-Y bringing home an alien specimen to earth or a reference to something being brought to David's "turf"?

Very interesting....

It does get bit spoilery if you look into it a bit to much though...

I did make a topic trying to decipher what the soundtrack means.

I'm liking the sound of this (no pun intended). I bet a lot of the scores are going to have an ominous, you know it's there but not where feeling to them.

Disappointed that "Life" from Prometheus won't be making a comeback. Beautiful track.

Indeed i would Label it Spoiler though, as some of us may start to analyze what scenes go where.

Track 6: Planet 4? - Interesting.

If the tracks are more or less in chronological order of execution, it´s interesting that there is an "Incubation" before the appearing of the Covenant.  This seems to be some kind of Prologue _ maybe involving Shaw?  Or maybe this is the famous scene of David bringing hell to the engineer/humanoid civilization.

OK. So my 2 cents.

I've been really really trying to stay spoiler free so may be missing info from "leaks" etc.

1. Incubation

Hypersleep pods. Everyone snoozing. Panning shots starting exterior then a wee tour of the ship.

Probably grand and yet melodic.

2. The Covenant

Wakey wakey! Skeleton crew awaken. Busy about. Want me to fetch your slippers for you type stuff.

Probably more main stream and chilled out. Background music during the hustle of waking up and getting to work.

3. Neutrino Burst

No idea. Woken by turbulence from a distant supernova? Lol. That'd allow them to be awake to get the distress call/beacon/whatever. No clue on this one.

Feels like it should be a more upbeat and "exciting" track.

4. A Cabin On The Lake

David sending the distress call/beacon/whatever.

Probably dark and foreboding.

5. Sails

No clue!

6. Planet 4 / Main Theme

Arrival at whatever planet it is they get to. "Paradise" I guess. Wide shot of planet. Exteriors of Covenant.

Probably grand and majestic.

7. Launcher Landing

Well this one speaks for itself. It's a bumpy ride.

Track probably as chaotic as the descent to keep our pulses racing.

8. Wheat Field

After landing having a wee poke about. Wheat! Wow! Who planted it? Who cares! Let's go stamp on some spore pods.

No idea what it'll sound like.

9. Spores

Oops!!! Always putting my foot in my mouth. Though this time my foot ain't in my mouth but a beast will soon climb out of it (didn't avoid that spoiler lol).

Probably quite quiet and suspenseful. The calm before building to a crescendo as they try to return to the lander.

10. The Med Bay

Birth of the cute wee baby (at the expense of a perfectly decent back).

Probably eclectic and loud.

11. Grass Attack

Neos jumping about all over the place. Panic. Fear. Gunfire. Explosions.

I'd assume this one would be as frantic as the scene. Probably with cunningly timed percussion blasts to amplify visual "jumps".

12. Dead Civilization

After David saves the day (hopefully not on a motorcycle lol), they go through the dead and mummified remains.

Probably atmospheric.

13. Survivors

David leads them into the engineer (or other humanoid race) "temple" building, still under the guise of Mr Nice Guy.

Folk try and patch themselves up and recover after the evens that have transpired since landing.

It's probably at this point the adult Neo messes up that chick, and maybe others.

Track? No idea. There is the probibility of interesting conversation/dialog. David still manipulating the crew into a false sense of security. Maybe with some bs story about what happened to the dead guys outside.

14. Payload Deployment

Flashback to David going full genocide on the race of folk and the ensuing transformations, slaughter and general craziness.

Track as mental as the scene. Probably starting quiet (as the ship approaches) then building to a feverish pace as the music mirrors the carnage.

15. Command Override**

Vote of no confidence on Mr My-Face-Is-About-To-Be-Hugged. After the catastrophic failures and carnsge caused after landing, by poor decisions made by acting captain. Daniels tells him to shove it and takes command. Orders the 2nd drop ship down from Covenant.

Track? I dunno. Musical lol

16. Face Hugger**

Mr There-Is-Nothing-On-My-Face-Yet goes away in a strop with David as the others return to the evacuation point. After the bickering, he goes with David to get some ice to cure his butt hurt.

And gets face hugged for his trouble.

Track will probably start jovial and chirpy, becoming more atmospheric and threatening. Guaranteed sudden loudness when fh strikes then quite frantic as he struggles.

Then cut to next.

17. Chest Burster**

Owch! Wakes up. Only him and David. Asks for a nice cup of tea. Explodes.

Quiet then mental.

18. Lonely Perfection

Baby protomorph! Awww. First of its kind. How lovely. It goes away to eat some folk...woohoo!

Track probably mirroring the violence of the birth reducing to a slower pace to reflect David''s awe at his creation.

19. Cargo Lift**

Battle with protomorph on or near the 2nd dropship. They'll not know about it as they weren't there as they left him with David.

Track exciting and loud.

20. Bring It To My Turf

Probably a line said by said by Tennessee, seems like the kind of thing he'd say. Get the Protomorph into the ship then show it a rather unpleasant time.

Mid finale here. Doubt the pace of the score will drop. Fast and exciting.

21. Terraforming Bay

Final showdown. Daniels and/or Tennessee mess up the protomorph.

Loud exciting crescendo.

22. Alien Covenant Theme

Credits and post credit scene.

Credits music probably soft and calming to help us regulate out heart rates after 2 hours of f***ING awesomeness!

My ** marked ones are the way I think this could pan out. Based on the Prologue and 1st trailer, I get the feeling there will be a bit of a pissing contest between Oram and Daniels.

She is married to sick/dead/on covenant captain. He is healthy/alive/on the ground acting captain.

You can tell he resents her, it seems fairly obvious from the prologue and the trailer.

From Trailer:

"Are you sure about this?...we don't know what the ****'s out there..."

Likely reply:

"F**k you bi**h, I'm the boss now your hubby isn't here. I'm going to send the crew to its death just because you don't like the idea. I wanted to give a speech and I didn't get to before we arrived, seems reasonable to kill everyone just to apease my narcissism and calm my butt-hurt."

So I think there will be a power struggle and a switch of command after every decision made since landing was a stupid one. Daniels takes charge. A butt hurt Oram. And a protomorph born from it! Yes!

Anyway. As I say, I've been limiting my exposure to spoilers and leaks as best I can so I'm probably a million miles off on most points.

Soooo.....I'll shut up now lol

Take care folks.

Sorry that was so long. When I start on a subject I'm excited about I find it hard to shut up.

This basically gives the events of the movie away. At least for me but I don't mind at all and I come here for spoilers. I don't know the exact details of what's going to happen of course but I think I figured out the gist of things. That turf thing is definitely when Daniels confronts the Alien on her own turf. Everything else is also pretty straight forward. I still don't know details but I can tell that the movie is going to be intense and reminds me of alien and aliens combined.

@Ranting Xeno

Have to agree with a majority of that, i did a post on the other related topic about what Scenes we surely know about and then its to piece how these fit with the Track List.

The First Track if it is in Chronological Order will most likely be about David and Weyland as this is a Prologue Scene, however we cant be sure if this Scene has any Music as per say.. it will however feature a Piano Solo by David

As for the next comment about Orams Reaction to Daniels LOL

But indeed he becomes Captain and as he (Billy Crudup) had said... Oram is religious and kind of follows the whole "God has a Plan for Everything Approach"  and so finding a World that is Habitble and has Wheat to him would be a sign that this was a Place that They was meant to see and arrive at by Gods divine Plan.

He even views the Experiments by David as being works of God.

Unless Shaw or her "fate" play an important part in A:C, the writers/producers are literally throwing away the main character from the first Alien prequel...a woman on a quest to find her creators. For me, it would detract from even a great movie. It actually makes much less sense than the deaths of Newt and Hicks in Alien 3. Daniels seems interesting, but Noomi Rapace brought realism to Shaw. What compelled the filmmakers to drop the David/Shaw combination, as it appears they've done?

I like the idea of Shaw becoming biomechanoid like Giger's "Li," and even the one about Shaw becoming or producing the first Queen. But the drooling Xeno may be the most we get at the end. The rumor that Daniels and Tennessee survive and leave with David pretending to be Walter sounds plausible. (Wouldn't even people in 2017 check to make SURE a megalomaniacal android hadn't assumed the identity of their upgraded version after experiencing cataclysmic events, though?) We want big answers but I don't think we'll get them. Scott had said at one point we'd see "God" in this one, but the Engineer theme feels like it's on hold (which could explain the tossing out of Shaw's quest). From the start, I wanted the Space Jockey in the first movie to be a godlike biomechanical being with some physical relation to the Xeno. What Giger designed was not humanoid at all, and had obvious similarities to "Kane's son." Maybe by the end of these prequels Scott will give us back our mysterious being, and show that the Engineers emulated its race and technology. The Last Engineer in Prometheus wasn't even as scary as the Borg from Star Trek: First Contact. The bad makeup on Old Weyland and then the instantly waking, shiny, growling "god" who acted more like Frankenstein's Monster than an advanced being, were like visual versions of all the plot holes in the script. A gorgeous movie, with an unbelievably flawed story, then the rubber-toy Trilobite, Weyland, and the plastic-looking Space Jockey (?). Expanding on Giger's ideas could have solved most of the movie's baffling gaffes. Pearce was brilliant as young Weyland in the promotional piece for the movie, which featured magnificent writing. But Old Weyland isn't believable and he's too unlikeable. He walks right up to the Engineer, out of arrogance. He asks for immortality after ordering his goon to kill Shaw if she opens her mouth again. It just doesn't work. Is Weyland expecting the big guy to say "Oh, sure. My immortality device is somewhere around here among all the dead bodies of my associates who were headed to Earth to destroy it." Why doesn't Weyland concede that the frantic Shaw has a point? The big menacing guy was going to kill all life on Earth, but he'd make an exception for some sick old Earthman who doesn't care about his own fellow visitors to their "maker"? (I wish Scott had kept the deleted scene where Weyland tells the Engineer he made David... This would at least have given us a clearer idea that the possibly biomechanoid giant was angered at Weyland's hubris.)

Shaw was a bittersweet, brave, grief-scarred, sincere and slightly looney character. I hope she doesn't become Newt/Hicks 2.0. And Alien movies backing away from Giger's influence would be like Star Wars movies without lightsabers, blasters, droids, landspeeders, X-Wings, the Force, etc.! Alien and Aliens worked because the Xenos were scary as all hell.

I hope the film is dedicated to H.R. Giger. His nightmares have enriched our imaginations and shown us our own "alien Id" and its possible evolution in the far future. I hope A:C is true to the sense of wonder Giger and Scott showed in their masterpiece. The Brother to Shadows gave Ridley a universe of cosmic horrors to run with.

On with the delicious speculation, fellow fans! The wait's nearly over! Maybe we'll get some intriguing answers this time round.

Existenzable I agree, i think the story of Shaw wanted to find mankind and the engineers origin is far more exciting than how the xenomorphs was created, but also i dont think we have seen the last of that story yet. I dont think Shaw is settling with that "paradise" is the place were engineers originated. And for RS to kill her off just to end that part of the story and focus on the aliens seems stupid, very stupid. She needs to survive or else the whole plot point of Prometheus is wasted
