That said, I am pretty sure the 'king of the world' quote is him goofing on the movie Titanic. He also says he has a 16 inch penis too, in the cuts. They keep hamming it up all through the cut scenes. Not sure if any of it is supposed to be serious.

AdminPraetorianApr-08-2015 3:28 PMIt's a great documentary, you really need to see it if you haven't already. I used to link it here on site but it was taken down from where I was linking it from. It's on the Blu-Ray.

MemberDeaconApr-09-2015 4:55 PMYeah you are correct it could be a Goof....
But some may think its a bit of coinsidence his pose is Cruciform ;)
But its actually in a pose of trying to get a crowd to notice and applaud him..
The King of World comment is something that however behind the scenes is whats going on with David, i am sure we will see him evolve into something that sees himself as God...
Certainly like the Android in the comic book Fire and Stone perseved himself as he was changed by the Goo...

In the Happy Birthday video, David is seen playing chess against himself. Also, the earlier script ends with Shaw and David playing a game of chess. There are Queens & Bishops on David's chessboard, but there are Kings as well...
Artificial intelligence may be incredibly good at chess because of the way it thinks. Chess is the so-called "game of kings". Part of playing chess involves sacrifice. Sacrificing the Queen is a risky play, so it's mostly those perceived as pawns that are expendable. Mostly. David may be thinking 6 or 7 steps ahead of Shaw, playing a symbolic game of chess.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2015 6:20 AMThe company's winged globe logo is very interesting to me. Why do people choose the symbols they do? What meaning does it hold?
It could be tied to the Prometheus myth, in a way. When Prometheus was chained to a rock for stealing the fire of the gods, the gods punished him by having an eagle perpetually peck at his liver for all of eternity.
There are a number of decorative drinking birds scattered throughout Weyland locations... I think they're kind of like unicorns in Bladerunner. The company has a thing about birds. I feel the wings on their logo, the drinking birds, and the bird-like design of the Prometheus craft itself, are related to the eagle (or in some sources falcon) in the Prometheus myth.
That's not to say wings wouldn't also represent other things, like angels
